The Boucle du Pays de Menat starting from Servant is a 124 km itinerary in the heart of the Sioule and Combrailles gorges. This fourth stage of 24.5 km connects Blot l'Eglise to the hamlet "Les Fougeroux" in the commune of Neuf-l'Eglise. Stage 4: Blot-l'Eglise / Les Fougeroux: 24.5 km - 7h00 Departure point: Leave the village on the main street, turn right towards “Pouzol”, then left towards “les Tinants”. After two large masonry wells, take the gravel track to the right, and follow it to the road. 1 - Go straight ahead (old farm machine), turn left at the T-junction and continue as far as “La Villeneuve”. Turn right onto the dirt track that winds down into the Sioule gorges. At the road, turn right to the Lisseuil church. 2 - Opposite the church, fork right, then, after 50 m, go left, direction “Moulin des Iles”. The road turns into a track which leads up to the D109. Turn left onto the D109, then left again after 200 m, following the Sioule to Les Garachons. 3 - An old, badly deteriorated road leads up to the D109. Take the wide dirt track opposite. At the T-junction with a road, turn left. At a crossroads with an iron cross, fork left towards “Château Rocher”. Château parking lot on the left. 4 - Take the grassy path down to the right of the parking lot (signposted “sans-issue”). Back on the D109, follow it to the right as far as a small Romanesque stone bridge. 5 - After the bridge, turn left. Descend along the basketball court, then follow the Sioule for over a km. At the end of the forest, take the wide rocky track rising to the right (view of Château Rocher). Cross the village of Biesse, staying on the main road. (well surmounted by a cross on the right). At the main crossroads, take the road rising to the right towards “Vendoges”. At the fork in the road, follow the winding track to the right. Back on the road, turn left until you reach a crossroads. 6 - Turn right on the minor road to Neuf-Eglise, skirt the stadium on the right, and after 200 m, turn right on the grassy track (St Roch fountain) to the road. 7 - Turn right, then, after 150m, at a basalt cross, turn left onto the old, damaged road. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead until you reach a wide dirt track on the left (signposted “limitation 6T”), which you follow along a pond to a place called “Le Bouchat”. After the village, fork left onto the dirt track (signposted “limitation 3.5T”). Go past the Malguette pond and continue on to the D122, where you turn right for 700 m to “Les Fougeroux” (chambre d'hôte).

From the Blot-l'Église stadium, head for the Étang Magaud, a fishing and leisure lake, and enjoy the panoramic view over the Sioule Gorges.

An easy, shady walk to discover the banks of the Sioule, the Lefort spring and the spa park. The spa park features an arboretum with around thirty species of coniferous and deciduous trees. Walkers can discover these different species thanks to small explanatory panels scattered at the foot of the trees. Children will love the Lefort spring, and this walk along the banks of the Sioule will keep you cool in hot weather.

This trail is typical of the Combrailles region, with the Sioule River forming the backdrop to the gorges and valleys. The climb up to Château-Rocher is a wonderful reward for the hiker, who enjoys a feeling of elevation above this bucolic landscape.

The Romanesque building has a single nave, a projecting transept and a semi-circular choir. The chapel features an altarpiece with twisted columns from the Carthusian monastery of Port-Sainte-Marie. The statues of Saint-Cyr and Sainte Juliette stand on the plinths.

The buildings bear the traces of different construction periods: Romanesque (lower parts of the church), 14th-15th centuries (upper parts and fortifications of the church, west gallery of the cloister and abbey castle). They were deeply reworked in the 19th century. The ground level of the old buildings is marked by paving stones. The church contains very beautiful sculpted capitals, including lions. A small detour through the cloister allows you to appreciate the monks' living environment. All year round, guided tours allow visitors to discover a working watermill producing its own flour for demonstrations using traditional methods. Unusual decor for this picnic area near a crater lake! On site: swimming tolerated, fishing, canoe rental and creperie in season. The tables are offset from the lake, plan a 10-minute walk. For reasons of hygiene and water quality, swimming is authorized by the owners of the site, but any canoeing with outdoor equipment is prohibited (paddle, inflatable boat, buoy, etc.).

The Gour of Tazenat is a crater lake which forms a nearly perfect circle, 700m in diameter and around 66m deep with clear water. Surrounded by forest. There is a small restaurant at the edge of the lake near the car park: The Gour de Tazenat, which resulted from molten lava coming into contact with a body of water not far below ground, is a crater lake or maar, an unusual result of volcanic activity. The result is spectacular, with an almost perfect circle, 700 metres in diameter, around 90 metres deep and with crystal-clear water, surrounded by forests.

In this remarkable romanesque Church, dating back to the end of the 12 century, we detect a mixture of influences from the Limousin and Saintongeon. The richness of the sculpures can be seen on the entrance gates to the Church and inside the church.
