A walk to discover St-Rémy, proposed by the "Tourism" working group of the Communauté de Communes du Bayonnais and the association Anim'Crevéchamps. This village is, as its name suggests, surrounded by forests. You have to cross or walk along them to access them. Burned, then razed by the First World War, it is a village entirely rebuilt to the "best" of what happened in the 1950s.

A walk to discover Rozelieures. This village of 161 inhabitants is a place of patriotic pilgrimage. In 1914, it played both a dramatic and historical role as it was here that the German army suffered its first major failure.

Thanks to the FRPP for the creation of this hike and for the work done by its teams throughout the year to mark out and maintain these paths. A panoramic path with magnificent views of the Moselle Valley, the blue line of the Vosges, the Colline de Sion and the Saintois. There are also many cultural and natural attractions to discover: churches, wash houses, fountains, the Canal de l'Est, ponds and the Moselle. This looping trail can start at various places: at the car park of the Les Iles campsite in Charmes, at the car park of the Socourt village hall, on the Place des Chanoinesses in Avrainville or in front of the town hall in Florémont. This circuit is marked with a red disc. From the campsite in Charmes, follow the Canal de l'Est which leads you to the Paquis ponds. Then, cross the D157 and you will arrive in the charming village of Socourt. As you climb the slope of the path leading to the heights of the village, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Moselle valley, the Canal de l'Est and the neighbouring villages. As you keep walking, you will gradually discover the surrounding nature, with its local flora and fauna, which is worth looking at. After passing over the RN 57, continue on your way to Avrainville. As you enter this village, take time to look at the fountains and old farmhouses that make up the village. Then, by taking the rue Eugène Jeandin, you will head towards Florémont, a charming village built into the hillside. Here again, you can discover old buildings, such as the Church of Saint Basle from 1789, but also a presbytery, a stone wash house and a crossroads cross from the 15th century. Finally, by taking the hillside path, you will cross the RN 57 again, to return to the town of Charmes, passing by old spinning mills. You will then return to the starting point.

After Charmes, the Voie Bleue winds its way along a magnificent greenway along the Canal des Vosges. The remains of the industrial heritage linked to the textile industry are clearly visible at this stage, especially with the old red-brick spinning mill in Nomexy, or the imposing roundhouse in Thaon-les-Vosges. You arrive peacefully at the port of Épinal, nicknamed the “Cité des Images” because of its museum, the largest collection of popular images in France. Charmes: Wild Moselle, bird and beaver watching Chatel sur Moselle: 10th century fortress, the most important in Lorraine, can be visited by reservation. Thaon les Vosges: La Rotonde, a theatre with an amazing architecture Épinal: Image Museum, the Castle and its park, Museum of Ancient and Contemporary Art, Saint Maurice Basilica, Planetarium, SpinaParc.

Discover the plain of the south of the Vosges through this 102 kilometre route where the bumps come one after the other like a rollercoaster. Starting from Florémont, you ride towards Ubexy to look for the first series of bumps around Gugney-aux-Aulx, among the orchards. The warm-up is short, the tempo is set until Madegney, the end of the first series. Enjoy a good moment of calm before tackling the next series at Madecourt and its highest point located shortly after Domjulien. A small hilly road quickly leads you to the vicinity of Juvaincourt airport, which you bypass from the north to Poussay. This downhill section along the Madon allows you to take a breather before taking the last roller coaster back to the starting point in Florémont. A trail that is mostly in forest, shaded in summer, with many cultural and natural attractions. Distance: 11km, duration approx. 3.5 hours Marking: Red ring Different departures: MORIVILLE Salle de la Louvière or PORTIEUX Verrerie This hiking trail takes you to La Louvière and its path in the Forêt Communale, composed mostly of hundred-year-old pedunculate oaks. At the curve in the path, two Siamese hornbeams invite you to visit the old Charmes-Rambervillers railway line, which was put into service in 1871 and disused in 1943. The platform of the traveller's halt and its period lime trees are the only witnesses of that time. The cavities in the Scots pine forest in the Hichère ravines remind us of an old plaster quarry and in the hillock, a shooting range lined with badger burrows. Rancerot and its stream, partly supplied by the Fontaine Ferrée, its wild boar park (private) and the communal Arboretum with its many species. At the top of the Tranchée du Torlot, the crossing of the magnificent beech forest leads us to the foot of a Cormier (remarkable tree). Below, the reed bed of the Hemmerey stream, filled with irises, and higher up, a young oak-hemlock forest coming from natural regeneration. Leaving the communal forest, stop at the Portieux glassworks on the hillside and its three centuries of history

Museum Gaspar is housed in the residence of the middle-class family Gaspar from Arlon who had set up in this house (1893) that was built in 1842. It was renovated in 2004. The two most famous members of this family are animal sculptor Jean-Marie Gaspar (1861-1931) and Charles Gaspar (1971-1950) who was a photographer and a sponsor. He gave his house to the town of Arlon on the condition they make a museum of it, dedicated to his brother's work and that put into honour the history and the heritage of Arlon. At the first floor, theree are two restored salons identical to a middle-class salon from the early 20th century that show Jean-Marie Gaspar's sculptures. and the art and picture collection of Charles Gaspar. The rest of the first floor is dedicated to temporary exhibitions of the museum that alternates artv and history. A religion room shows collections about the abbey of Orval and to the people's devotion at the 18th century, and also relics from the ancient Saint-Martin church. But the Masterpiece is the famous altarpiece Retable de Fisenne - a 16th century masterpiece from the Antwerp school. It was bought in 1893 by a middle-class family from Arlon, the family Gaspar. Jean Gaspar (1861-1931) was a sculptor. He was trained by the Antwerp sculptor Jef Lambeaux. His works are in bronze and in plaster and they are exhibited in the salons that have been restorated as they were in his house. His brother Charles (1871-1950) was a photographer, a collector and a sponsor. He gave this house to the town of Arlon. It hosts the library of the Archaeological Institute of the Belgian Province of Luxembourg and its secretary office since 1954. A wide part of the museum is also dedicated to temporary exhibitions about art and history of Arlon.

This garden was created by the landscape gardener Jacques Couturieux. He associates with a secular box tree path, shrubberies and perennial plants. Open from May to September (Guided tour ON ASK).

At 30 kilometers south of Nancy, Froville's priory is a unique place in Lorraine : the romanesque church dates back to eleventh century and its cloister was buit in the fifteenth century. It's also open to visitors and every year, there are many concerts and events like the prestigious sacred and baroque music Festival.

The Moselle river loop, a riverside area passing through Nancy and Toul, made up of the Moselle, the junction canal and the canal from the Marne to the Rhine, benefits from a quality setting and an ideal geographical location at the crossroads of major cardinal yachting itineraries.

This World War II memorial site is the last remnant of the barracks built in early 1945 in Saint-Rémy-aux-Bois. For nearly 10 years, they housed the inhabitants after the village was burnt down and then bombed by the Germans. Like a living museum, the furniture and everyday objects of the time are in their original place, accompanied by photos and testimonies of this historic period. At the way out of Rozelieures village, on the 22D road to go to Saint-Boingt, the French Military Cemetery has been built to remind the "Battle of Rozelieures". This Military Cemetery remembers the victory of french Army, the first since the beginning of 1st World War, in Rozelieures on 25th August 1914. It contains 218 individual graves, 2 collective graves with 21 dead bodies inside, and 2 monuments that contain together 915 dead bodies ; that means in the Cemetery of Rozelieures a whole of 1 154 dead bodies, with 783 not identified soldiers. A central path rise to the war memorial, on which is engraved in golden letters the writing "TO THE WINNERS OF ROZELIEURES". Open every days in the year. In the village, the Rozelieures church has a stained-glass window that also call to mind this violent battle during the 1st World War.

This site shows a monument with memorial plaques to remember the Lorraine's Victory. Rozelieures is indeed the place where french Army has won its first great victory since the beginning of Fisrt World War. On the 25th August 1914, german soldiers have tried to invade France between Rozelieures and Saint-Rémy-aux-Bois, in order to get over the place nammed "La trouée de Charmes". But the french Army has resisted victoriously, that is what has allowed to slow down the ennemy invasion. The monument is accessible every days in the year.

Located in the heart of Lorraine between Nancy and Epinal, amid orchards filled with mirabelle plum trees, Rozelieures has a tourist attraction that is the only one of this kind in Lorraine - the "Maison de la mirabelle" (Mirabelle Plum Centre). The Grallet family, which has been enthusiastically promoting mirabelle plums for 5 generations, welcomes visitors to a high-quality information center where they can watch a film on a giant screen (in French, English and German) and find out some of the family’s production secrets in the distillery. Visitors can also use a giant plum to work out their weight ... in numbers of mirabelle plums ! Moreover, the Tasting Room contains a wide range of mirabelle plum products.

The Battant ecomuseum is a journey into the industrial past, the techniques and know-how, but also and above all, the life of men in the last century. Discover the saga of a site that is over 150 years old with its hydroelectric power station, sawmill and mechanical workshop, still operational! Take a guided tour through the past at the gateway to the Vosges with one of the oldest industrial sites in the area of Charmes, which was the last one to cease operations. The Battant site takes its name from the activity of the drapers, which first trace can be found in 1580, then later by the tanners who used to go to the canal to beat* cloths and skins. For 2 hours, a passionate guide will take you through the heart of the Battant and its origins which are linked to the canal: the turbines. Charmes was the second town in France to have hydroelectricity and two turbines are actually still working before your eyes: the mechanical workshop and a generator. Discover the secrets of these technologies and take a walk behind the scenes of the manufacture of specific types of screws, spearheads of the Dazey-Thiébaut company, but also and above all the safety of yesteryear. Beware of the internal regulations which would make more than one apprentice go pale! The famous engineer Paul DAZEY, who was responsible for the company's development, will amaze you with his ingenuity and his various inventions. Le conservatoire du patrimoine de Charmes (CONPAC) welcomes you every Tuesday afternoon from 3pm to 6.30pm. Housed in the famous “maison des loups” from the Renaissance, where Richelieu signed the Treaty of Charmes in 1633, the Conservatory offers books, exhibitions and information on Charmes and its surroundings.

This arboretum presents 250 sorts of trees and bushes, which were classified on a path between Giriviller and Essey la Côte. Free entrance.

In the centre of the town, the Restaurant-Brasserie "Les cheminots" offers you traditional French cuisine every day, except Thursday evening and Sunday evening. Decorated soberly, the restaurant room is a friendly place and you can enjoy classic dishes at a modest price.
