No roads, no villages. The scarcity of surface water has prevented a permanent human presence. The main activities that you are likely to meet in the Reserve area are grazing, forestry and walking. The Fauge Shelter is a large, unguarded hut. With a fireplace, it can accommodate 20 people. It is named after the valley of the Fauge.

The carette hut is an old sheepfold restored by the Parc du Vercors and transformed into an unguarded refuge. This beautiful hut indicates the entrance to the Natural Reserve of Hauts-Plateaux du Vercors.

The shelter of Peyrouse (Abri de la Peyrouse) located on the balconies East of the Vercors is an unguarded stone hut, 2 places are planned to sleep there, but you will not find there water nor stove to warm you.
