This loop combines the discovery of the local terroir with a stroll between vineyards and forest. A detour through the village of Marcillac allows you to admire its listed church, its famous distillery whose fireplace marks the landscape, and its winegrowers' cooperative, 2 local gastronomic curiosities. Then, still between the vineyards, you reach a hamlet and its old flour mill converted into a restaurant. After crossing an open landscape alternating fields and pastures, you pass the Livenne river. You take the wide tracks through the mixed forest. During this quiet stroll, you may be able to observe birds bustling through the foliage or meet a deer at the bend in the path. On the way back to the starting point, you will pass close to the remains of another watermill, a witness to Marcillac's rich industrial heritage

Following the marsh of Vertheuil, where the castle and the roofs of the abbey of Vertheuil can be seen in the distance, the walker reaches the town of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, surrounded by its wine castles From there, the path through the vineyards offers breathtaking views of the estuary and joins the palus, where a path on the dyke punctuated with "carrelets" (small wooden huts) leads you to the port of La Maréchale. Heritage, landscapes, nature, vineyards are on the program!

Most of the guides in the region suggest that you discover our Médoc châteaux. During your walk, we will take you to smaller buildings scattered in the middle of the vineyards and which have a direct link with the wine châteaux: these are the vineyard huts.

With its 1250 hectares of vineyards, Saint-Estèphe is without doubt the Médoc appellation that offers the greatest variety of terroirs. Between the vineyards and the estuary, this itinerary will allow you to discover, by bike or by car, its castles scattered in the different hamlets of the village, as well as their rich and singular architecture

Following the mouth of the Gironde, the path of the legend of Amadour then crosses the route of prestigious wine estates, Médoc grands crus such as Château Lafite-Rothschild and Château Grand-Puy Ducasse. Upon arriving in Pauillac, the walk ends along the quays, where one can see the Patiras lighthouse, which has guided ships from its island for more than 100 years.

There are more than 110 species of birds – reed buzzards, herons, storks, snipe, etc. The site features 2 distinct, but complementary parts: - a free area where visitors can climb to the top of an observation tower, as well as a reception area with a café, boutique, and panoramic restaurant - an area with an entry fee consisting of three ornithological trails with lookout posts with mounted telescopes.

The vineyard, located in the north of the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, on the slopes overlooking the Gironde estuary, benefits from an average of 240 days of sunshine per year. Its exposure, in the heart of this hilly landscape, and the richness of its terroir allow us to obtain wines of great generosity. We produce red and white AOC Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, Bordeaux rosé as well as Crémant de Bordeaux brut and Perle de Lussan (Méthode rosé).

Château la Martellerie respects a know-how specific to the grands crus. The grapes are turned into wine, aged and put in bottle at the property. The vineyard is located on clay-limestone hills.

Château Haut Grelot was born in 1920 from a small vineyard in the village of Les Grelots. In 1975, Joël Bonneau took over the family business, focusing exclusively on vine-growing. In 1981, he began direct sales, to give priority to producer-consumer contact and to devote himself most singularly to your needs. La Micro-Folie is a free digital museum featuring a multitude of works of art, as well as cultural, entertaining and technological content from leading national cultural institutes. The mobile digital museum travels throughout the CCE?s communes for part of the year. Its permanent home is the Saint-Ciers-sur-Gironde media library.

Towards the end of the 19th century, this modern church in Romanesque style was built according to the plans of Monsieur Bonnorre.

The old church of the Middle Ages must have been Romanesque, but we know that it is on the baptismal registers of Saint-Aubin, that in 1671, under Louis XIV, a presbytery was built at the expense of the inhabitants of the parish. In 1738, under Louis XV, a Grand-Moulin culvert was built in Saint-Aubin on the main road. The church, restored in the 17th century, has kept its Romanesque character with its old bell tower, its porch and its three panelled naves.

Château des Tourtes is a wonderful family story which is perpetuated. Created in 1967, Vignobles Raguenot thrive on the pioneering and visionary minds of Lise & Philippe Raguenot. In 1997, their two daughters Emmanuelle & Marie Pierre and their husbands take the vineyard of Château des Tourtes back, which is in Blaye-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. This estate, located in Saint Caprais stretches on 64 ha whose 15 are a production of white grapes. This is a warm atmosphere and full of conviviality that awaits you in this lovely property. If the atmosphere of the place inspires you, know that two lodgings await you in Château des Tourtes. Take benefit of the discovery of the estate to visit the vineyard in a uncommon way : ride one of the bikes to do the "bulle verte", a real immersion in the vines.

The Lardière family offers tours of its vineyards and winery, as well as tastings of AOC Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux reds and whites, rosés and reds from France, and more... !
