This circuit will make you see several dolmens, a "mound" where large slabs were collected by our ancestors of the Neolithic, a hike that alternates between fields and undergrowth that crosses pretty villages.

A short, signposted route through the Poitou vineyards at the gateway to Anjou. Within a small area, the historic and built heritage is incomparably rich: picturesque villages, troglodytic sites, mills, dolmens, wash-houses and dovecotes form an uninterrupted string of secret nuggets.

This path will allow you to appreciate the remarkable troglodytic heritage of the picturesque villages where the troglos were dug in the local blacnhe stone, the tuffeau. It will lead you to the heart of the vineyards, where famous grape varieties such as Cabernet Franc or Pinot Blanc de Loire are grown.

Between castles and hedgerows, this trail offers views of Touraine, Chinon and the Loudunais region. Zoom in on the local history of the Loudunais. You will also be able to recognize some of the species that inhabit our forests: willows, oaks, aspens, locust trees...

This path will make you discover the limestone hills around Loudun. Privileged witnesses of the geological and historical evolution of our regions, they tell the formidable story of the Neolithic men who were sanctuaries there, relayed later by the Celts and the Gallo-Romans.

The Chemin d'Aliénor is a 90 km cycling route. It links the Loire à Vélo to the Scandiberique via the Ligne Verte, an old railroad line between Châtellerault and Loudun.

Created in April 2016 on the initiative of French contemporary art collector Philippe Méaille, the Château de Montsoreau-Musée d'art contemporain is a radical, committed, lively place, located two hours from Paris, in the Unesco World Heritage Loire Valley. Housed in a château on the banks of the Loire, the museum's architecture, collection and exhibition spaces are outstanding, making it one of the leading international institutions dedicated to contemporary art. Its permanent collection, presented on three levels (2,500m2 of exhibition space) is the world's largest collection of works by Art & Language, the artists' collective behind Conceptual Art. The programme of the Château de Montsoreau-Musée d'art contemporain reflects the creative wealth of today's artists. It is organised around temporary exhibitions, events, meetings, concerts and performances.

This anniversary begins with an off-season concert (in May) with the 70 young musicians of the OLDA Symphony Orchestra from the Lycée David d'Angers. The 30th Musicales de Montsoreau have chosen to invite renowned artists who have contributed to their success, accompanied by one of their (former) students, whom they have trained, advised and followed right up to the dawn of his or her new career. We'll have the pleasure of seeing Staffan Mårtensson, Virginie and Bruno Robillard, Nicolas Stavy, the Rosamonde Quartet, the Magnifica Brass Quintet... and, of course, Mario Raskin, the festival's founder! These five musicians have devised a programme based on the values that have driven them for forty years: high standards, transmission and the pleasure of playing, offering an eclectic programme of works from Handel to Dufay. They will be introducing a young student trumpeter, Yves-Laurent Rémillien, whose progress they are following with particular care. For this closing concert, they will be offering a festive programme to celebrate their 40th anniversary and the 30th anniversary of the Musicales de Montsoreau. 15th-century château, redesigned in the 17th and 19th centuries, situated on a rocky promontory overlooking the Loudun plain in the commune of Roiffé. Still preserved today are the main building with its wooden courtyard, a medieval gatehouse between two towers, and the ruins of the castral chapel near the old fortifications.

René I of Anjou’s "Château of Love " on its "emerald rock", the Château de Saumur played host to kings and prisoners and is one of the greatest and last untouched remnants of princely architecture from the Valois dynasty in the Middle Ages. The château appeared in all its glory in the Très Riches Heures du duc de Berry illumination and has had a turbulent past, narrowly avoiding demolition. The 11th century Romanesque tower was surrounded by four round towers before it was levelled off. Louis I of Anjou decided to transform the château into a palace. In the 15 century, his son, Louis II, made it look how you see it now. King René’s spirit may linger but, for a century after his death, it was left empty until the protestant Duplessis-Mornay moved in in 1589. Dark times came after the governor was forced into exile following Henri IV’s assassination. The château was pillaged by Louis XIII’s soldiers and saved from demolition by Napoleon I who turned it into a state prison. Saumur Council bought it in 1906 to restore it to house the municipal museum, approved by Musée de France, displaying notably Count Charles Lair’s collection. The first floor of the castle houses an exceptional collection of decorative arts including furniture, tapestries and ceramics from the 14th to the 18th century. As an international horse riding capital, Saumur collects harness equipment from Antiquity to the early 20th century. A selection from the Horse collection (saddles, bits, stirrups) is on display in the former abbey.

This museum traces the evolution of the engine since its creation. The exhibits allow a historical, technical and educational approach to the development of mechanical energy. Located on an ancient Gallo-Roman site, this mill was built at the beginning of the 12th century in the commune of Beuxes. At 500 meters, the spring of Maumont feeds this mill initially equipped with 2 wheels of 2,40 meters of diameter. It ceased all milling activity in 1919. Its current owner, representing the 5th generation, thanks to his energy and his passion, restores to this architecture the character of its beginnings. The first trough wheel has just been installed and gives back to this mill its former soul.

Château de la Mothe-Chandeniers is a singular, mysterious and romantic work of art.
