In a very characteristic environment of sandstone and blue marl, this hike takes in two pretty villages. Saint Benoît, perched on a rocky knoll, and Braux, surrounded by chestnut trees. From the chapel below the village, turn left onto the road that runs alongside the ravine (yellow signpost). The road rises to a small plateau, ignore the road to the right and take the one that runs down into the Gros Vallon ravine until you reach a signpost to Braux on the right. Leave the road and join a steeply sloping path. The path, made of brittle limestone, twists and turns upwards, locally in blue marl, until it reaches an altitude of 900m. It opens out onto a limestone plateau dotted with magnificent bouquets of lavender in summer. A little higher up, there's a picnic table where you can take a break to enjoy the superb panorama of the St Honnorat ridge, Mont Mounier and Dôme de Barrot. Turn right onto the D110 towards Braux. The road passes the small hamlet of Le Villard, crossing the chestnut grove and its beautiful sandstone houses. Drive to the end of the main street to discover the village. Return by the same route. Back at the chapel, take the path to the right of the houses, along the ravine, to discover the village.

A pleasant trail along the Coulomp and beneath the impressive chestnut trees, with beautiful views of the sandstone cliffs. The village, with its beautiful sandstone houses, completes the hike. From the square, take Rue de la Parra for a few meters, then take the trail on the left. When you reach the “Route du Clot” sign, turn right onto the road that leads through the fields and passes by a few houses. Before the road ends, turn right between two houses. Follow this winding trail through a beautiful chestnut forest to the Gassigné Bridge, which spans the Coulomp River. Cross the bridge and turn left. The small reservoir feeds a hydroelectric plant; swimming is strictly prohibited. Head down the trail, first along the right bank and then the left bank of the Coulomp. When you reach the Gay Bridge, head up the Lare ravine toward an active quarry, then take the RD 110. Turn left onto the wide trail known as the “Porte de la Chataigneraie,” notable for its sandstone entrance arch. Follow this trail back up to the village. Another possible starting point: D110, at the Pont du Gay. Please note: The chestnut groves are private property; picking anything (chestnuts, mushrooms, etc.) is prohibited.

Easy, fun and interactive, this discovery trail winds through the chestnut grove along a canal, in the heart of a pastoral landscape. You’ll be able to learn about the distinctive features of this place from the information boards at 11 sites along the path.

The first part of the trail runs under the cover of a chestnut forest and along the "Roman Way".

This path, mostly in chestnut forest, offers a beautiful panorama of the sandstone and the village. The start of the route follows the Roman road along the Beïte valley.

Geological curiosities, rare species and biodiversity, a thousand-year-old heritage and mysterious legends: this trail will help you discover the hidden wonders of the Annot sandstone site. Take Avenue de la gare. A few metres before the station, pass under the railway tracks and turn right. The path winds its way up between sandstone boulders. After the Roubine rock shelter, the route crosses marl and then becomes steeper. At a fork in the road, head for the Jardins du Roi. This short loop takes you through the impressive Garambes gorge before rejoining the main route. Turn left towards the chambre du Roi. The path continues along a wide but vertiginous ledge before reaching the wooded canopy. After the Abri du Plateau, make the short return journey to the viewpoint. Cross the Portettes arch and descend into the chestnut grove. At the Espaluns belvedere, make the short round trip to the left to discover a magnificent rock shelter. The descent is punctuated by several eyebrows before joining the paved path leading to the Vers la Ville chapel. Along the way, you'll discover ancient rock shelters in the heart of a magnificent chestnut forest, beautiful views from the plateau and an extraordinary rocky chaos on the descent to the village. The final part of the route follows the Annot sandstone path.

Mostly shaded at the start, the path joins the Pont Saint-Joseph. It climbs up the St-Jean ravine, at the foot of the cliffs of the Educh plateau, to the ruins of the hamlet of Ourges. The climb is steeper up to the chapel of Saint-Jean-du-Désert.

Chapel dedicated to Saint-Sébastien, decorated and painted by the artist Patrick Moya in 2018. The interior of the Saint Sébastien chapel in Le Mas, officially unveiled in October 2019, has been entirely decorated by Nice artist Patrick Moya. On the inner walls and ceiling of this chapel, the artist has painted a mural that tells the story of the life of San Sebastian, a tale that resonates with the village’s history dating back to Roman times, as well as with the artist’s own world and his research in the realm of contemporary art. The wall-to-wall work is a blend of sacred and secular: the martyrdom of Saint Sebastian, the Hospitallers, the venerable family of Provençal nobles known as La Famille de Grasse, the Lérins monks, the American aviators hidden and protected by local residents during World War II. Religious symbolism, clever nods to eras and events, quotations – everything is deftly incorporated, bathed in the same Mediterranean light, interpreted with the same poetry. You will come across a number of rapids on this active and lively river. At the end of the descent, take some time to relax by taking a refreshing swim in the heart of nature before heading back to the departure point by mini-bus.

This ancient sandstone cross, located south of Annot, is sheltered by a canopy built upon four limestone columns. Despite its name, Croix Romane (or Roman Cross), and the date given on the classification decree, stylistic analysis suggests it dates from the 16th century. It is shown on the 1/14,000-scale Carte de Provence by the Ingénieurs Géographes militaires (1764-1765). It also appears on the 1830 cadastral map, on a "dry" plot belonging to Coste Honoré Jean-Baptiste. It is located a few dozen meters south of a former chapel, Notre-Dame des Auches, which appears on the Carte de Provence, on the Carte de Cassini and on the cadastral map of 1830, when it became part of the commune of Annot. The columns of the baldachin are similar to others used as replacements in houses around the Annot church. At one time dedicated to Saint Pons, this church was first mentioned in 1042 in a donation charter made by the local lord of the area at the Saint-Victor abbey in Marseille.

Housed in what was once the winery of the Maison Rabiers du Villars, the Regain museum unveils a new exhibition each year, focusing on the traditions of the Pays d'Annot. In the Louis Barral room (archaeologist who explored the St Benoît caves in 1950 with the team from Monaco's Musée Anthropologique Préhistorique): Exhibition of artifacts found in the St Benoît and Méailles caves during these excavations. Organized by the ADPC Association under the aegis of Annot town council.

Built in 1681, replacing the former wooden bridge, the Vaïre bridge has pedestrianised bays which were added in 1711. The bridge was shortened due to the town square being extended and there are now only four arches, yet there were seven before.

The Vérimande chapel was most likely built on the site of a Templar chapel. Today the chapel is sheltered by a canopy roof and remains a place of pilgrimage during the annual Saint Fortunat festival.

Some 100 specimens of two-wheeled machines, in perfect working order, are presented simply on their crutches or hung on the museum's picture rails like paintings by old masters. A must-see for lovers of fine bikes. 105 motorcycles arranged on 3 levels, by chronological era: - models from 1910 to 1948 on the first floor - models from 1950 to 1960 on the second floor - and models from 1970-1980 in a basement to be created in 2021, in honor of the museum's 40th anniversary!

Built between 1610 and 1627, the cathedral's crenellated bell tower and powerful buttresses reinforce its defensive appearance. Its Gothic architecture is complemented by an astonishing Baroque interior. Once the cathedral of the bishop of Glandèves (who moved his main residence to Entrevaux in the early 17th century), it was "Cathédrale de Glandèves" from 1624 to 1790. It houses a wealth of listed furnishings, including the altar, the altarpiece and the 18th-century painting depicting the Baptism of Christ, -the altarpiece (1716) and François Mimault's painting of the Donation of the Rosary (1631), the 53 17th-century walnut stalls, -the pulpit, from the end of the century or the beginning of the following century, decorated with bas-reliefs of the four Evangelists, A series of paintings: the Vow of Louis XIII, dated around 1630, an Assumption by François Mimault, dated 1630, a representation of the Holy Family, from the second half of the 17th century, an 18th-century silver-plated copper bust-reliquary of Saint John the Baptist, used for processions in June and August. -The organs date from 1717, and were restored in 1864 and 1948. The instrumental part is by Jean Eustache.
