Departure from Saint Sébastien station, village of Vaussujean. This circuit of sunken lanes meanders past streams and mills, past the Fontaine Saint Jean, the church of Saint Sébastien, cutting across the Abloux at the glacis with its "Sédelle"-type rocks, and the Forges mill.

The 41 can be started from either the railway station or the town of San Sebastián. It's even easier than the 40, although in wet weather you'll find some muddy patches on the west side of the circuit. If you're in good shape, why not take Nos. 40 and 41?

Departure from Saint Sébastien station. The start-up consists of a nice bump (Peuchenin), followed by a nice descent. We're right in the thick of things. At the village of Marainan, the long stretch of track (shared with the 39) is pleasant and restful.

The house is located in the village of Vareilles. Easily accessible via the A20 or N145. La Souterraine, a medieval town with the "Village étape" label, is less than 10 minutes from the gîte. All services are less than 6 km from your vacation rental. Take advantage of this proximity to discover the local markets held on Thursday and Saturday mornings. La Souterraine's aquatic center is open all year round, with a swimming pool and fitness area with spa, sauna and hammam. If you're a walker or a fisherman, the 5-hectare Etang du Cheix is home to pike, perch, trout and roach. The site is equipped with play equipment for young children.

The gîte is 300 m from the Hôtel Lépinat "Hôtel des touristes", which has been converted into a heritage interpretation center, for an impressionist journey. The first interpretation trail is 400 m from the gîte. All shops are nearby. The 1930s-style house has been tastefully decorated. Anita and Ian, who are passionate about decorating, makeovers, travel objects and flowers, have created an atmosphere that combines comfort and cosy decor. A detached gîte set in enclosed grounds of around 1000m², where you can enjoy lunch or a siesta under one of the four apple trees! A garden level with 2 garages is ideal for storing bikes, fishing gear, motorcycles or cars. The raised first floor is very pleasant with its covered terrace. The rivers La Creuse and La Sedelle are within walking distance of the gîte.

The original tumulus was erected around 500 BC. This tumulus is a reconstruction. The Redoutes tumulus necropolis comprised five mounds excavated between 1983 and 1986. The site was close to the Age du Mont village. At its center was a burial in a hollowed-out tree trunk, accompanied by two bronze rings, a filiform bronze earring and a second earring made up of three beads, one in glass paste, the second in hollowed-out amber and the third in perishable material, of which only the imprint remained. The tumuli were separated by low dry-stone walls, the whole being encircled by a circular granite wall 14 metres in diameter with an external facing.

This small, rectangular rural church was built in the 12th century, but has undergone many alterations. The lower part of the façade features a slightly pointed-arched portal and two high, blind, round-arched niches. This type of facade is found in Limousin, Poitou and Berry. The façade ends with a simple gable wall, pierced by a round-arched bay topped by a small sculpted head. The nave is slightly wider than the choir with its flat chevet. The latter has retained its stone cradle, while the nave vault has been replaced by panelling. The choir houses a 17th-century high altar with a damaged painting of Saints Peter and Paul. A 13th-century stone-filled bay has been preserved in the upper part of the chevet wall. The church features a 17th-century wooden altarpiece.

This church dates back from the XIIth century and was rebuilt during the XV and XVI centuries.

Let yourself be carried away by the colors of René Esposito's paintings. Open to the garden, the studio invites you on a sensory voyage. A professional painter since 1978, he first exhibited in Paris in 1974 at Galerie 34. He has lived in the Creuse since 1981 and shows his paintings in his studio at La Maisonbraud in the commune of St Germain Beaupré. At the start of his career, he devoted himself to landscapes. Over the years, he has exhibited in several genres: pastel, watercolor and gouache, before moving passionately into oil painting, using brushes and knives. His birth in Algeria and his Italian-Spanish origins spontaneously led him to color from an early age. Painting is a joie de vivre, an obsession with light, a few tubes on the palette, and the journey begins. He works with a knife, fascinated by the material.

The former church dated the XIIth century but due to the lack of interview and because of the dilapidation of the building, the municipality decided to reconstruct totally the building. The current church, the boss of which is saint Sébastien, a martyr, was dedicated on October 7th, 1862. This neo-Romanic church is facing west. Each of the side walls is supported by foothills. The bell tower-hall is roofed in skeleton. The portal is surmounted by a Moorish arch in full round arch, by-passed by a decorated archivolt, falling again on columns committed to figurative capitals.

The church has undergone a number of alterations, notably in the late 18th century, when the bulbous bell tower was built, extended by a tapering false lantern inspired by the towers of Saint Germain Beaupré castle. It incorporates the seigniorial chapel built at the end of the XVth century against the southern flank of the nave, vaulted on ogives with liernes, tiercerons and central keystones featuring the Foucault family coat of arms. The west door of this chapel is embellished on the outside by a molded and sculpted decoration; unfortunately, it has been cut off at the top. Paintings : There is a painting on canvas (late 17th century) depicting Saint Germain, bishop of Auxerre, and a painting on canvas (1729), signed Nillaud (Limoges painter), depicting the delivery of the Rosary to Saint Dominique. The interior also features two statues: one depicting the Virgin and Child
