It crosses unspoilt countryside, vineyards at Cabidos, wooded areas and runs alongside several rivers. Along the way, there are superb views of the Pyrenees mountain range. For an extended adventure, you can continue on to the bastide town of Arzacq-Arraziguet (Les tournées du Soubestre ? grande boucle).

Between vineyards, forests and plains, ride along Lac d?Arzacq on the route to Santiago de Compostela, through the vineyards of Cabidos and stop off at the bastide town of Arzacq-Arraziguet.

Discover the area along the river and through the forests. The circuit offers a great option (PR1A bis), allowing you to follow the Luy de Béarn from the Pomps dike to the Moulin de Pomps, before returning to the leisure area via the Bouillon communal forest. In Arthez de Béarn, a village of character at the top of the Béarn hillsides, the Chapel of Caubin is a high place of passage for pilgrims on their way to the Puy des chemins de Compostelle. The Chapel of Caubin is the last vestige of a commandery founded in 1154. Very prosperous in the 16th century, the commandery gradually fell into abandonment and the chapel was not restored until the sixties. During your visit, you will notice its unique architecture, in the shape of a semicircle, with a four-pitched roof and a bell wall. Inside, part of the ceramics of which are original, stands the lying of a knight in a blazing fire.

Bougarber is a typical Béarn village, west of Pau. The gîte is located on a working farm (calf and sheep rearing), in a detached house divided into 3 dwellings. Your gîte is on the front facade, adjoining a year-round rental (there is another apartment upstairs). Each has its own entrance and private parking. Your gîte is on the raised first floor (access by steps from the garden). You'll be comfortably seated in a quiet, natural setting. The road to downtown Pau is fast and direct. There's a large shopping center in Lescar, and you can also visit the medieval city.

Guided tour to discover the history of the town of Mourenx which is closely linked to the industrial basin of Lacq and whose adventure began in 1957 and 1960 with the commissioning of four gas production units. For the first time in France, a town of 15,000 people was built entirely on virgin and marshy land, near the hamlet of Mourenx, which is now a district of the town. JB Maneval and the architect Douillet drew up the overall plans and the housing, respecting an urban organization inspired by the social scheme of the factory. Bars, houses in bands and individual but also many green spaces with trees and flowers... Mourenx remains a "green city" in the countryside that juxtaposes the rural and urban.

Sauvelade is situated in the centre of the region Le Larbaigt which means the valley of the river Laà. Situated on the way to Santiago de Compostela on the via Podensis (the Puy en Velay Way), Sauvelade is a stopover between Arthez-de-Béarn and Navarrenx. Sauvelade Abbey was built in the 12th century. It was Gaston IV Le Croisé, Viscount of Béarn, who made a gift to a Benedictine monk Dom Hélie of the forest of Faget to build a monastery dedicated to the Virgin Mary. In 1286, Sauvelade Abbey was officially affiliated to the order of Cîteaux. As for the church, it is mentioned in 1287. It is registered as a historical monument in 1973. Its particularity is its Greek cross plan and it is surmounted by a dome which is quite unusual in Béarn. The church has the simplicity that characterizes all Cistercian buildings.

Castillon d'Arthez is a small rural village close to Arthez de Béarn; the Compostela Puy route goes through the centre of the village. Délices de veau is a small scale veal farm with Red Label status, situated in rolling pastureland. The owner, Philippe, has used all of the knowledge handed down from generation to generation to ensure that the calves are raised with their mothers. This type of traditional meat production is very usual in south west France and allows for a healthy mother / calf relationship. Every calf born on the farm is looked after with great care and attention and gets to feed from its mother two or three times a day at set times. This ensures a high quality eventual meat product. The farm also produces mutton.

The Compayrot Mill cultivates cereals (wheat, corn, rye, small spelt, buckwheat, green lentils, sunflower, rapeseed, camelina...) in a reasoned agricultural approach that it transforms into artisanal flour thanks to its millstone mill. He also produces sunflower oil (for seasoning or cooking), rapeseed oil, camelina oil, and hazelnut oil, which are purchased from a farm in a neighboring village. Pulses such as lentils and azuki beans are another specialty of Compayrot Mill. All products are natural, without preservatives and additives. Moreover, the storage of all the crops is done by ventilation which avoids the use of insecticides.
