In a quiet, wooded setting, the botanical trail, with the help of the ONF (Office National des Forêts), allows you to discover 14 tree species common to our forests. The trail covers a distance of around 2 km. Florence and Philippe Ménard cultivate an 8-hectare orchard of organic chestnut trees in Parcoul and La Roche-Chalais, and offer a range of products derived from chestnuts: chestnut cream, marrons au naturel, chestnut purée and flour. Restored and refurbished in 2022, the Fontaine de la Dévotion is located just a few metres from the church of Saint-Michel de Rivière. It was a place of pagan worship before the Middle Ages and is said to have miraculous properties.

Church dating from the 12th century. The magnificent Romanesque facade in the Saintongeais style remains from this period. The modillions and sculpted scenes are very well preserved.
