A short walk that allows you to discover the charming village of Azérables and its green setting.

Starting from the pond of La Chaume, this walk leads to the discreet Cornu wood which borders the southern bank, and which plays a fundamental role in the ecological balance of the site. Stay tuned: the route is in the process of evolving and should make it possible to reach the granite chaos of the Mur des Brosses (during 2023).

You pass by the pond, but don't stray too far from it. It's pleasant to do on easy trails, and the southern part leads to some lovely sunken paths.

A bumpy, hollowed-out route that requires a bit of stamina. From the Etang de la Chaume, the route wanders through the Creuse bocage on rolling tracks and paths. The highlight is the 2 km downhill stretch on the Chemin du Marchat.

Don't be fooled by the peaceful landscape surrounding the Etang de la Chaume! From this very pleasant starting point, the route heads due south after a short excursion into the village of Azérables, and then takes in a succession of bumps and hollows - modest indeed, but numerous... The Chemin du Marchat, at the halfway point, is a non-stop, slightly downhill stretch of 2 km, very pleasant to do, with a beautiful view to boot. This trail is part of circuits 25 (black) and 23 (blue): triple signposting almost the entire length. Be extra-careful when crossing the D1, especially the second time around: some cars speed along. Please slow down a little when crossing the Villaugoueix, to avoid running into any farmyard animals that may be loitering on this narrow stretch of road...

Saint-Sulpice-les-Feuilles, in Haute-Vienne, welcomes you for a 3-hour hike along the banks of the Etang de Gançay. The village church features a magnificent 13th-century reliquary angel from Grandmont Abbey.

Completely independent and not overlooked, the house opens onto a covered terrace extending onto a vast meadow with a pretty grove (small playhouse). Beyond this is a 1-hectare pond where you can practice your fishing skills and then release the fish. 3 km away, Lac de Mondon fishing pond and aqualudic area with heated outdoor pool, and 1 km away, Bouerry forest, classified as a natural area of ecological interest.

We renovated the gîte at the end of 2022 with all the necessary comforts, retaining some of the original features but adapting some modern ones: air conditioning, mosquito nets on the windows, modern electric fire for the autumn/winter months. We have an ecological wood-fired jacuzzi which is included for stays of 7 nights or more, and extra for short stays, reserved exclusively for our guests. Spirulina flakes and tablets Spirulina is a microalgae with enormous nutritional potential. I've been growing spirulina since 2019 in 2 100m2 ponds. Harvesting is seasonal (from March to October) and takes place in several stages: filtration, pressing, packaging in ?spaghetti? form, drying at low temperature to preserve all its virtues, then grinding to obtain the famous ?flakes? Finally, I package them (100g) in opaque, airtight sachets. I also offer it in tablet form. In summer, I organize visits followed by a market dinner with local producers, and a concert.

48 ha! That's the surface area of the Etang de la Chaume in Azérables. In its waters, pike, zander, perch, carp, tench, roach, amur, catfish and even sturgeon will play with your hooks! 5-hectare pond. Types of fish: carp, tench, roach, perch, pike and trout in early season. Authorized fishing techniques: angling only. Fishing with soft or metal lures, electronic rods or baitcasting is strictly forbidden. The entire park of Château de Las-Croux, designed in 1893 by Limoges landscape architect Nivet, is open to visitors. Entrance is via the "turrets" (neo-Gothic gatehouses with towers and machicolations), the long driveway leads to the former kitchen garden (not open to visitors), with an orangery and greenhouse in the background, the neoclassical pavilion continues on, and further on, the present-day château. Visitors then proceed to the stables (1860), which house 7 horse stalls and 4 carriage sheds, and past the tack room (visible from a window). Most of the trees were planted in the 19th century. Water came from the entrance turrets, which were themselves fed by springs upstream from the pond (hydraulic ram system). Part of today's château is open to visitors: the vestibule, salon, study and dining room.

The bar-restaurant Au P'ti Creux, located in the town center of Les Grand Chézeaux, offers a workers' menu from Monday lunchtime to Friday lunchtime, and delicious pizzas from Friday evening to Sunday evening, to tantalize your taste buds. Pizzas are available to eat in or take away.

In Mailhac-Sur-Benaize, close to the lake and Mondon campsite, Aux Berges Du Lac welcomes you to its warm dining room and terrace with a breathtaking view of the lake.
