This loop allows you to discover the village of St Georges de Montclard dominated by the private castle of the 11th century. Welcome to the path of the motte castrale in Saint Félix de Villadeix The village has a long history. The parish church is a Romanesque church that was extensively altered in the 15th and 19th centuries. The chapel of Saint-Nicolas, located in the cemetery, dates from the 15th century. The chapel of Lapeyrouse, with its original architecture reminiscent of the cathedral of Saint-Front de Périgueux, was built in the 19th century. However, several elements testify to a much older occupation of the territory: a section of ancient road and a motte castrale from around the year 1000. The 3.5 km interpretation circuit of the motte castrale invites you to discover the little-known history of Saint Félix.

Welcome to the hamlets loop. This 7.2 km loop takes you along the right bank of the Caudeau. After admiring the Romanesque church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption and the medieval Château de Montastruc, listed as a historic monument, you'll discover some magnificent stone hamlets.

Welcome to the easternmost loop of the Lamonzie-Montastruc commune, at the gateway to the Liorac forest. The 9.8 km route takes you along the Louyre watershed to admire the remains of a former flagship of the local economy: tobacco growing. From the 17th to the 20th century, tobacco cultivation had a lasting impact on the Dordogne valley. After several stages of intense threshing, the tobacco passed through these drying kilns before being packaged and sent off to the world's cigarette markets.

Our animals are treated primarily with alternative medicine, based on plants and essential oils.

Natural cosmetics from Périgord Come and spend a moment out of time in our workshop-boutique, housed in an old tithe barn steeped in centuries of history, where the last 2 generations have worked the wood magnificently... and where we now make natural cosmetics essentially from AB walnut oil, AB wild plants and other marvels from the family estate. Our walnut oil soap in the shape of a walnut is a must. You'll also find other very local products: walnuts, walnut oil, honey, chestnut cream, herbal teas, candles, hourglasses and cards.

This 14th century château underwent extensive renovation in the early 20th century using Leo Drouyn’s plans with grounds designed by Gabriel Perdoux. Its past is closely bound to the Château de Montastruc to the north of the village of Lamonzie-Montastruc which they both tower above at the confluence between the Louyre and Caudeau. Château de Bellegarde has belonged to the same family since the mid-19th century and is home to beautiful receptions rooms, a library, dining room and more furnished entirely with several Aubusson tapestries. This is a real family home whose interiors reflect how wealthy landowners lived in the early 20th century. A walk in the grounds enables visitors to admire Bellegarde’s architecture in all its glory and enjoy panoramic views of Caudeau Valley.

The Lambert family welcomes you for a tour of the farm and a presentation of their work. Typical local farm, located on the Fouleix hiking trail (n°7): 8.5 km, 2 hours (easy). Farm products: cows, sheep, pigs and vegetables.
