This first local hiking loop of 6.5 km, inaugurated on May 14, 2017 during the spring festival of the commune, mainly uses rural roads (CR). It allows the walker to rise about forty meters and cross various landscapes. At the highest points, he will find himself in what was once a moorland area maintained for sheep. The Domaine Départemental de Sports et de Loisirs Gérard Lagors in Hostens is a 600-hectare estate equipped for exploration of the natural milieu and for a range of outdoor leisure activities (including mountain biking, canoeing, archery, climbing, tennis and bathing). The beach is supervised from June to September. The estate also offers visitors a chance to try their hand at its “Escalad’arbres” – a mixed, removable forest trail made up of ropes and cables. Following the takeover of the churches by the communes, the church of Saint-Jean was abandoned and destroyed. The one that stands today, rather simple and similar to the church of Cabanac, dates from 1879 but keeps its bell, a painting and an original peg.

The church, located on a small mound in the heart of the village, overlooks the wash house which is fed by a drinking water source where many people still come to get water because it is said to be fresh and light.

Curiosity has always been on two mounds at the entrance to the village of Cabanac. This heap of earth and stones still keeps its secret as to its origin.

Although there is only one town hall and more than one school group, everything is duplicated in the commune: two wash houses, two prisons, two village halls and two churches: Saint Martin de Cabanac, which is a Romanesque church in its rear part and contains a remarkable Way of the Cross and magnificent stained glass windows, and Saint Jean de Villagrains Today, there are only remains of this village, only one partially destroyed house remains. The church was dismantled, the houses collapsed and the cemetery disappeared under the vegetation. In 1879, the church that had been abandoned was rebuilt in the present village of Villagrains. Only a bell dated 1544 still remains. The two main current economic resources of this forested commune are the wood industry and gravel extraction.
