The vineyards of the Côtes du Marmandais are quite present on this itinerary, which offers many shaded passages in sunken paths or in small wooded areas.

The traces of Sainte-Bazeille go back to the Neolithic period. The numerous excavations and discoveries, exhibited in the village museum, make it a key archaeological site in the middle Garonne. This tour will help you discover, through 7 thematic panels, the historical and natural wealth of this town.

To the delight of cycling enthusiasts, a new route reserved exclusively for pedestrians, cyclists and non-motorized modes of transport (excluding horse riders) opened in 2023 in the département. Accessible by train from Marmande SNCF station, La So Vélo links Marmande with the spa town of Casteljaloux (and Clarens lake) and Pindères in the Landes region, over a distance of 27 km. Built on a former railroad line, the So Vélo allows you to ride safely between the Landes and Garonne rivers, passing through the towns of Marmande, Gaujac, Montpouillan, Samazan, Bouglon, Argenton, Poussignac, Casteljaloux and Pindères. It is also linked to the Canal des 2 Mers bike path (at the canal bridge in Montpouillan and near the Pont des Sables boat stop).

This small loop crosses the valley of the Millebordeaux, tributary of the Gupie and the Garonne. To the west of this circuit, the paths and wooded hillsides offer beautiful views of the villages from St-Avit to Beaupuy, passing through Escassefort and the Magdeleine hillside.

This small loop starts from the place de la Calle near the church of Couthures-sur-Garonne, then it follows the big loop of the Garonne, river personified by the inhabitants of the village who live at the rhythm of its floods. With its 411 inhabitants, the village is located on the banks of the river and almost all the houses are in flood-prone areas. It has undergone several floods, the four largest (1875, 1930, 1952, 1981) are inscribed on the wall of the church. You can end the tour with a visit to "Gens de Garonne", a museum, a scenovision and a model of the floods. The history of the inhabitants of Couthures-sur-Garonne and the whims of the Garonne will be told to you with a show that will transport you to the beginning of the 1960s to share the daily life of the people of the Garonne. The views follow one another on this route - the Dropt valley, the hills of the Pays de Duras, from Baleyssagues to Loubès-Bernac and Soumensac but also those of St-Vivien-de-Monségur. At the start and finish of this loop, be careful on the D303, even if it is not very busy.

Once upon a time in Marmande, Ferline was the daughter of a rich bourgeois, young, beautiful and wise. Peyrot Bory, of modest extraction, was dying of love for her, but did not dare to admit it to her. After a visit to the West Indies and New Grenada, he brought back in his luggage a pouch in which were some strange flat seeds, dark grey. Back in Marmande, he sowed the famous seeds in a sunny corner of his father's garden. At the beginning of the summer, clusters of magnificent red fruits appeared, round and smooth. Every morning, he picked a few of them and put them in a small wicker basket that he left on the windowsill of the beautiful house...

The first part of this route crosses the river Trec before crossing a large natural area that separates the city from the Garonne. A passage on the shaded mats adds a little freshness...

The church of St. John the Baptist, partly from the 12th century, is remarkable for its Romanesque portal. Its western facade was registered in the inventory of Historical Monuments in 1925. The lake of Marcachaud extends over an area of 4.8 hectares in the commune of Sainte-Bazeille, and belongs to the 2nd category. The enthusiasts will be able to fish for roach, night carp, pike and zander. No-kill carp. Each participant must have a fishing card.

In 1150, a lady of great beauty appeared to two young children who fled in terror. Instead, they later found a statue of the Virgin by the fountain. Eleanor of Provence had a chapel built on the site. Since then, this legend is at the origin of the devotion to Notre-Dame-de-Lorette.

This restored mill was built in 1770 and belongs to the Saint Marc family, beekeepers who market honey from the Ruchers du Moulin à Vent. Sale of all bee products: various honeys from Aquitaine, pollen, propolis, mead, spirits, liqueurs and vinegars, candies, soaps ...

We cultivate 3 hectares of vines in the commune of Caubon-Saint-Sauveur. Our first harvest took place in September 2024. From June 2025, we will be offering certified organic white, red and rosé wines, vinified on our own estate.
