From Meuvaines and Asnelles, head for Arromanches-les-Bains via the inland and coastal routes, as you follow in the footsteps of the British 231st Brigade. Over this route, you will discover a share of the history of the British troops’ advance thanks to different explanatory panels and sites.

A small, personal campsite on the edge of the Normandie Maine National Park, a site with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside and the village of Couterne. Situated on the main road between Lassay-les-Chateaux (Petites Cités de Caractère) and the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne, on the border between the departments of Mayenne (Pays de la Loire) and Orne (Normandy). A warm welcome awaits explorers in caravans, motorhomes and tents, whether travelling with a motor vehicle or on their own. Our pitches are spacious and bordered by hedges. They are ideal for families or couples to feel at home. We have two accommodation units available for hire. Our large, spacious mobile home 'Rimini' is available for a minimum of 3 nights. A lovely walk under the trees awaits you in this pretty, easily accessible municipal park. In fine weather, it's covered in pink cyclamen! A protected area for all the family, with a playground and fitness trail, plus benches for a short break. From the park, you can join the hiking trail "Sur la trace des barons".

The Compagnie des Airs Sauvages dreamt up this venue and the Creully-Sur-Seulles town council made it possible! Located in the former stables of the Château de Creully, the CANA, or Maison des Musiques de Tradition Orale, is a third-party cultural centre where words are exchanged, knowledge is passed on, audiences meet and artistic creations are made and produced. Courses, workshops, evening events, residencies, concerts and events take place here. Comprising three main halls, including a 49-seat pocket theatre, it offers a cultural season in constant touch with oral tradition and local dynamics. CANA is a bonding machine!

A fortified castle between Caen and Bayeux The medieval castle of Creully is one of the most important in Calvados after Caen and Falaise. Situated in the heart of the village of Creully-sur-Seulles, its unusual architecture bears witness to the many changes it underwent between the 12th and 19th centuries. Its exceptional Romanesque hall, moat and ramparts stand in stark contrast to the Renaissance turret on its façade. The Radio Museum Inside the château, the Radio Museum displays 20th-century civilian and military radios. Texts, films and artefacts illustrate the evolution of communications and the importance of Creully as the cradle of war reporting. In June 1944, the BBC set up a radio studio in the château's Tour Carrée, enabling war correspondents to broadcast their reports on the Battle of Normandy. The museum's collections are on display in two areas of the château. One is only accessible on guided tours. You can explore the Château on your own or with a guide. A wide range of events are also on offer throughout the summer! Château grounds: discover the grounds - Open all season 8am-9pm. From the terrace, enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view over the Seulles valley and the Creullet estate! Access to the park may be restricted, particularly at weekends, depending on the events taking place there.

The gardens of the Château de Brécy: terraced gardens, surrounded with stone balustrades and statues, an exceptional (striking due to its height and decoration) entrance gate. Both the castle and garden are listed historic monuments (17th century). Unaccompanied tour time: 45 minutes

The 12-hectare site includes a former quarry used to extract Bathonian limestone since the 10th century. Situated on the banks of the Seulles river, it is of great botanical interest for its numerous calcicole plant formations. The xerophytic lawn is home to the most important Lower Normandy station of bitter gentian and a fine station of delicate raiponce. In the cool ravine ash grove, exceptional for the region, grows the nationally protected Fontainebleau alisier. A shrub zone is dominated by junipers and shrubs, while the pioneer vegetation zone is home to bryophytes. Two former lime kilns, built directly into the rocky mass of an old quarry face, provide wintering sites for bats. Insects present on the site include the pearly blue argus, the dazzling calopteryx, the brome cricket and the depressed dragonfly.

Imagine yourself suspended in time in the exceptional estate of the Marquis Turgot and discover the formal gardens of the Château. Visit the historic salons with the owner, a descendant of Turgot, where family memories of the 17th and 18th centuries, the 1st and 2nd Empires and the Second World War mingle with fascinating and surprising anecdotes.

Situated on the Route des Abbayes Normandes, the priory was founded in 1058 by Fécamp Abbey, at the request of the Lord of Creully. The community, which flourished until the 16th century, fell into decline from the 18th century onwards, and some of the buildings were subsequently demolished. Surviving from this period are the choir of the priory church – the sole remnant of the 12th century and a fine example of Romanesque architecture in Normandy – the gatehouse and the justice tower. The main building remains imposing, housing the courtroom, the monks’ refectory and the prior’s tower. The private grounds enhance the site (rose garden, fruit-tree avenue, medicinal garden, the monks’ fishpond and modern greenhouses). NB: The Priory may be closed on exceptional occasions due to events, and will be closed on 12, 14, 24, 25 and 26 July 2026.

The burial mound in Colombiers-sur-Seulles is a 60 metre-long monument built during the Neolithic period at the time of the very first farming populations. Dating from 4200 to 4000 BC, it is the only remaining example of this type of monument in Lower Normandy.
