A beautiful route through chestnut groves and, in places, among sandstone boulders. It crosses the abandoned hamlets of Collet Gouiran and La Rate, and passes by the ruins of St. Peter's chapel, built on a sandstone boulder. Take the Suéio rise, then right onto the Chemin d'Argenton. Pass over the railroad line, which you will cross again a little further up. The path twists and turns upwards before coming out onto a track. Turn right, then immediately left; the route crosses the magnificent Chastel chestnut grove before rejoining the GTPA. Turn right, passing the ruins of Collet Gouiran and La Rate. Turn right at the crossroads. The path descends to Ravin de la Beïte, then joins the Argenton track. Follow it southwards. At the crossroads, turn right, passing the Chapelle Saint-Pierre, then right onto the Argenton track. Pass the hamlet of La Rouie, and leave the track on the left at the crossroads. The path descends steeply through an area of chestnut groves before reaching Le Fugeret. Please note: chestnut groves are private property and harvesting (chestnuts, mushrooms, etc.) is prohibited.

A long stage exploring old villages and Roman remains. Lodging under the Col du Fam or extend the stage to Braux.

This family trail, which winds through undergrowth, overlooks the valley and the Chemins de fer de Provence railway line. Old houses, bridges, wash-houses, churches and chapels in Méailles and Le Fugeret are also among the attractions of this hike. Leave the village in the direction of Méailles and follow the road for 400 metres before taking the path on your right. It rises under oak trees, the slope is steep but short-lived, and allows you to admire, on the right, a bridge of the Chemins de fer de Provence railway line. After a belvedere overlooking the valley, you progress on a false flat, through an undergrowth of heather and ferns, where pines, oaks and chestnut trees vie for the privilege of providing shade. The route is punctuated here and there by sandstone boulders and dry-stone walls. It overlooks the valley and the railway line, offering a fine view of the Charmette mountain and the bare slopes of the Rent peak. After a box hedge and a more bushy passage, it leads to a track which, two hundred metres further on, joins the Chemin de Notre Dame. You then reach the plateau and the Notre Dame du Rosaire chapel. The route offers a magnificent view of the village built on the edge of the cliff and the small railway station below. The return journey takes the same route.

From Méailles, the route runs along the cliffs at the northern exit of the village and enters a sparse pine forest until the entrance of the cave. Several basins are carved out in the cave’s limestone ground, and the ceiling is adorned with splendid stalactites. Warning: This is an unsecured cave only to be visited with speleological equipment; not recommended for beginners after 100m. Only undertake this visit in good weather conditions

A superb view of the surrounding mountains: Grand Coyer and Saint Honorat to the east, Pic de Chamatte to the south, the Haut Verdon mountains to the west, and the villages of Méailles and Allons in the valley. From the Roncharel refuge parking lot, cross the road and take the path leading up to Basse d'Annot. It crosses a track, then leads to the ridge, which you should follow to the right towards Basse d'Allons (yellow/red markings). Continue towards the summit, taking advantage of the panoramic view of the Grand Coyer and Saint Honnorat ranges to the east. A little further to the left is a pretty little shepherd's hut. Finally, a cairn of whitish limestone marks the summit of Pic de Rent at an altitude of 1996m. This magnificent ridge takes on a steppe-like appearance in early autumn, offering splendid views over the Vaïre and Verdon valleys. Return to the Roncharel refuge by the same route. This hike is also ideal for mountain biking.

This path, mostly in chestnut forest, offers a beautiful panorama of the sandstone and the village. The start of the route follows the Roman road along the Beïte valley.

Along the way, you'll discover ancient rock shelters in the heart of a magnificent chestnut forest, beautiful views from the plateau and an extraordinary rocky chaos on the descent to the village. The final part of the route follows the Annot sandstone path.

The route is divided between forests of various species and high-altitude mountain pastures. The stage ends with accommodation in Annot or Roncharel.

Taking the emblematic Blanc Martel trail without taking your car couldn't be easier, thanks to the shuttle bus and the Zou 450 regional line (ex BV1 )from Riez, Roumoules, Moustiers-Sainte-Marie and Castellane. Shuttle service resumes on 28/04/2023. How does it work? The Zou 450 regional line links Riez to Castellane via the village of La Palud-sur-Verdon. From La Palud-sur-Verdon, the Blanc-Martel shuttle bus takes you to the Chalet de la Maline, the trailhead. The trail ends at Point Sublime (Rougon). For your return journey, take the shuttle bus to the village of La Palud-sur-Verdon and/or the regional line 450 to Riez or Castellane. Timetables... To ensure optimum operation, the timetables of the Riez-Castellane regional line (450) and the Blanc-Martel shuttle are coordinated. Online booking is highly recommended if you want to be sure of getting a seat! Please note that the shuttle does not return to Chalet de la Maline in the afternoon.

The Vérimande chapel was most likely built on the site of a Templar chapel. Today the chapel is sheltered by a canopy roof and remains a place of pilgrimage during the annual Saint Fortunat festival.

At one time dedicated to Saint Pons, this church was first mentioned in 1042 in a donation charter made by the local lord of the area at the Saint-Victor abbey in Marseille.

Housed in what was once the winery of the Maison Rabiers du Villars, the Regain museum unveils a new exhibition each year, focusing on the traditions of the Pays d'Annot. In 2025, you'll discover a new exhibition. In the Louis Barral room (archaeologist who explored the St Benoît caves in 1950 with the team from Monaco's Musée Anthropologique Préhistorique): Exhibition of artifacts found in the St Benoît and Méailles caves during these excavations. Organized by the ADPC Association under the aegis of Annot town council.

Built in 1681, replacing the former wooden bridge, the Vaïre bridge has pedestrianised bays which were added in 1711. The bridge was shortened due to the town square being extended and there are now only four arches, yet there were seven before.

This ancient sandstone cross, located south of Annot, is sheltered by a canopy built upon four limestone columns. Despite its name, Croix Romane (or Roman Cross), and the date given on the classification decree, stylistic analysis suggests it dates from the 16th century. It is shown on the 1/14,000-scale Carte de Provence by the Ingénieurs Géographes militaires (1764-1765). It also appears on the 1830 cadastral map, on a "dry" plot belonging to Coste Honoré Jean-Baptiste. It is located a few dozen meters south of a former chapel, Notre-Dame des Auches, which appears on the Carte de Provence, on the Carte de Cassini and on the cadastral map of 1830, when it became part of the commune of Annot. The columns of the baldachin are similar to others used as replacements in houses around the Annot church. This precious salt demonstrates the presence of a marine environment in these places during the Mesozoic era, 220 million years ago. The Saint-André is rich in sources of this type.
