Former pilgrimage route of 180 kilometers to join the Perigord to Rocamadour, this magnificent route is now marked out, and allows you to cross the vineyards and hills of Bergerac in complete safety, before going along the green Dordogne valley and its cliffs, to arrive in the valley of the Ouysse. Starting from Grolejac la Mouline for this tenth stage, you will cross the village of Veyrignac and its church Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens then you will find the river at the level of the castle of Fénelon. You can admire its circular towers and its roofs covered with lauzes. Opposite Fénelon, on the other side of the Dordogne, stands the fortified village of Carlux where you can see the ruins of the ramparts, the entrance towers and the keep of the old castle. Before leaving the village, you will admire a curious gothic chimney called "sarrazine".

From Groléjac, the path turns away from the Dordogne valley and heads towards Sarlat La Canéda, along a greenway located on an old railroad line. The forest is omnipresent, overlooking the small valleys and leaving the hiker wide shoulders. Between Sarlat and Carlux, the Sarladais hillsides offer glimpses through the forest to villages with their blond stone and traditional architecture.

You will begin the hike by the village of Veyrignac, typical village of the Périgord Noir. Your route will be marked out by beautiful stone buildings: fountain, stone hut, mills... From the call sign located on the municipal parking lot, join the road and go left in the direction of "Château de Fénelon". After 30m, at the crossroads, take the small road on the left. 100m further, at the gate of a large property, turn right and follow the stone wall. After about 50m, turn right towards the church, then the communal oven. At the end of the village, leave the road and take a grassy path on the right that goes down to a fountain. The millers' path will allow you to rediscover an important but not forgotten heritage in the Pays de Fénelon: the water mills. All along the walk, you will be able to read the signs of the "Chemin des Meuniers" which will give you interesting information about the mills you will meet, their functioning, the work of the millers, etc.. At the signpost located on the municipal parking lot above the town hall, take the road towards the walnut grove to walk along the long version of this path. The long route will take you to the Lascombe, Patot and Moulin Haut mills, then on to the Beauvais, Neuf and Roc Blanc mills.

A loop "worth the effort"! Indeed, it's a red loop, but your efforts will allow you to observe and contemplate the famous Château de Fénelon. But that's not all! You'll also pass through the villages of Sainte-Mondane and Veyrignac, where you'll see water mills, a fountain and a splendid viewpoint.
