A consistant ascent of the small valley by "Les Envers" till Sainte-Marie-d'Alvey, a panoramic ascent on the GR9 till Saint-Maurice's plateau before a descent towards Grésin and then Champagneux. Easy ending on the Viarhôna and paths in the plains of Rhône and along the Guiers river.

A challenging circuit that will lead you on the Banchet mountain and its forest crossing between the Crusille and Banchet passes. An effort rewarded with nice viewpoints along the way. The Banchet pass descent is hard (porterage over 10 m) and quick, then you will go back at the foothills via Rochefort and the Bachelin hill. Nice viewpoints from the Chenevières rest area (Sainte-Marie-d'Alvey), the Crusille and the Banchet passes.

Since 2022, one area of the museum has been dedicated to the exhibition of its collections, documents and objects that Maison d'Izieu preserves itself: the Galerie Zlatin. The last witness to La Bridoire's rich hydraulic past, the Bovagnet mill, located in the heart of the hamlet of Rochassieux, is emerging from a long slumber of over 80 years. Operated in its present form between 1836 and 1939, this flour mill is a rare jewel in our region's heritage, with its installations showing its evolution from milling to flour milling. Now owned by the commune of La Bridoire, the site has been restored, safeguarded, animated and promoted by a team of volunteers from the association "À la découverte du passé de La Bridoire et de ses environs", in partnership with the commune. Their aim is to offer tours of the mill and its vernacular heritage at the same pace as the restoration work, to keep the mill "in its natural state", and to secure and organize the various areas for an educational and authentic discovery of how a 19th-century mill works.

During your walks, you will definitely see ochre houses. These houses, built following a very ancient building style, are in rammed earth. Open your eyes deep, it's a treasure of our heritage. The presence of rammed earth in Val Guiers is quite exceptional in Savoie (similar architectural styles can be found in close territories such as Ain or North Isère). Nowadays this heritage reveals the cultural identity of the landscape of Val Guiers; it is part of a savoir-faire, a lifestyle, a history that is passionating to rediscover. The tourist office of St Genix sur Guiers possesses an exemple of rammed earth wall of recent construction. People can see it by walking along the building. A permanent exhibition displayed inside the tourist office explains the building of rammed earth.

The Chapel of Pigneux is not far from Saint-Genix-sur-Guiers, a village through which the way of Saint James (Chemin de compostelle) runs. That's why many pilgrims are used to go to the chapel. It is said that this oratory was dedicated to Notre Dame of Pigneux - also called Notre dame du gage - in appreciation of a victory against Saracens. There are several hypotheses about the chapel's origins; although, none of them has been confirmed. Some people think that the construction of the chapel may be linked with the battle against Moors in the 8th century. According to other people, it could be linked with a conflict that opposed Saint-Genix-sur -Guiers to the lord of la Tour-du-Pin in the 13th century. A third hypothesis suggests that religious conflicts in the 16th century might be at the origin of the chapel. It refers to the conflict between Lesdiguières and the troops from Savoie fighting on behalf of marquis of Treffort. The Chapel, falling into ruins in 1792, was restored by Monseigneur le chanoine Blanc, parish priest in Saint-Genix-sur-Guiers. The Chapel of Pigneux was rebuilt and extended in 1875. Actually, no matter the legend you hear about or remember, we can say that this chapel has known a great success that encourages the bishop from Belley to appoint a chaplain in the 16th century. Several chaplains succeeded him until 1788, date of the death of the last chaplain. In 2001, the Chapel of Pigneux was totally renovated.
