From the bastide, this sporty mountain bike route plunges you into the heart of the Béarn hills. It follows a stretch of Lac d'Arzacq, takes in the Puy-en-Velay route to Santiago de Compostela, and winds its way through rivers, Cabidos vineyards and surrounding forests. For the more adventurous, it can be extended as far as Morlanne (Les tournées du Soubestre ? grande boucle).

Departing from the bastide town of Arzacq, this sporty mountain bike trail takes you to the heart of the rolling Béarn countryside. Between vineyards, forests and plains, ride along Lac d'Arzacq on the route to Santiago de Compostela, through the vineyards of Cabidos and stop off at Morlanne, an emblematic Béarn village famous for its medieval castle.

Located at the northern edge of the Béarn hills, Arzacq dominates from the top of its ridge a nearby Landes country. Tursan and Chalosse are indeed its immediate neighbors. A rich historical heritage to discover during the guided tour of Arzacq: feudal mound which formerly in the 11th century was overhung by a wooden castle serving as a lookout and a last refuge surrounded by ditches, its squares, its arcades, its church and the tower of Peich.

This 2 km circuit takes you on a tour of the bastide : Place de la République, Place du Marcadieu, its covered galleries with pillars and arcades, the Tour de Peich and its humpbacked roof, the horseshoe-shaped washhouse, the Saint-Pierre church... The 20-hectare Lac d'Arzacq is used for agricultural purposes (irrigation). The north/north-western part of the lake is dedicated to leisure, relaxation and fishing, with a gravel path running the length of the lake. The Welcome Center provides accommodation and catering for groups (associations, clubs, discovery classes...). It is also a stopover for pilgrims of St Jacques de Compostelle (way of Puy en Velay). Entirely renovated, it includes 3 buildings with a total capacity of 86 beds, modern kitchens, a restaurant room of 100 m2, a small lounge, library. In addition, there is an adjoining building with 3 large rooms (meeting rooms, classrooms, activity rooms, etc.), an exhibition hall and a photo lab. It is also possible to pitch a tent on a natural camping area.
