Welcome to the path of the motte castrale in Saint Félix de Villadeix The village has a long history. The parish church is a Romanesque church that was extensively altered in the 15th and 19th centuries. The chapel of Saint-Nicolas, located in the cemetery, dates from the 15th century. The chapel of Lapeyrouse, with its original architecture reminiscent of the cathedral of Saint-Front de Périgueux, was built in the 19th century. However, several elements testify to a much older occupation of the territory: a section of ancient road and a motte castrale from around the year 1000. The 3.5 km interpretation circuit of the motte castrale invites you to discover the little-known history of Saint Félix.

The ophrys is a variety of wild orchid that will mark out your route. The ophrys loop is a 5.5 km walk, along which you can enjoy both nature and history. A mystical and peaceful discovery for a village that saw so much fighting during the Hundred Years' War.

This loop allows you to discover the village of St Georges de Montclard dominated by the private castle of the 11th century. You will also be able to admire the houses with typical roofs of the region, some of which have preserved galleries and wooden balconies. On the village square, you will find the market hall rebuilt in the 18th century, testifying to the economic importance of the area in the past. Your walk will take you to the hamlet of Saint-Georges, through which flows the river of the same name, where you will find the 11th century church, which was built on an ancient place of worship. Inside, there is a space dedicated to Saint Rita, patron saint of desperate causes.

The city of Bergerac was an important port on the Dordogne in the days of the inland waterways. Some developments on the river upstream and downstream still testify to this period, including the dams created to facilitate navigation or for electricity production.

Starting from the village of Mauzac and its large water level at the dam, the route follows a canal that was dug between 1838 and 1843 to facilitate navigation to Libourne and Bordeaux. It is thus on the old towpath which was used to "lift" the boats that the valley cycle route is located. Along this route are some remarkable structures, such as the lock and the lock house of Mauzac (transformed into a museum), the "canal bridge" of Saint-Capraise de Lalinde, the lock staircase of Tuilières with a crossing basin, before arriving at the dam of Tuilières of 19,30 m high and 105 m length. This dam which produces 148GWH of annual average electricity is equipped with a fish elevator.

The charming village of Couze Saint Front is built on the banks of the river Couze at its confluence with the Dordogne. This exceptional place has been the cradle of the paper industry in the South-West since the 15th century. From the village to the Saint Front chapel overlooking the Dordogne, the path takes us to the paper mills that have made the village rich. The mills of Rouzique and La Roque, which make paper in a traditional way, as well as a factory, still in use, maintain the tradition of the paper-making village.

We are pleased to present our discovery farm. During your visit, you will be able to take part in the following activities: discovery trails between forest and meadow (150 animals, flora, fauna), educational activities (bee-keeping, orchard, vegetable garden, educational pond, woollen work, etc.), videos (presentation of local fauna). Self-guided tour of the farm: you can discover and observe different areas and stroke the animals as you approach them. Guided tour: observe the various animals evolving in the meadows bordered by forest species, walk around the educational garden with its varied plants, the vegetable garden, the educational pond and its inhabitants. Arnaud always wanted to be a breeder. As soon as he arrived at the Domaine, he made his dream come true with a clear desire: to set up a new model of agriculture, respectful of the environment and animals, sustainable and therefore profitable, by enhancing the value of the old breeds of our terroirs, which have now practically disappeared. The breeding and production of calves, pigs and beef is certified Organic Agriculture by ECOCERT. We deliver our meat boxes in Bergerac, Périgueux, Libourne and Bordeaux The animals of the Farm are raised in the open air with respect for animal welfare. Our animals are treated primarily with alternative medicine, based on plants and essential oils.

Natural cosmetics from Périgord Come and spend a moment out of time in our workshop-boutique, housed in an old tithe barn steeped in centuries of history, where the last 2 generations have worked the wood magnificently... and where we now make natural cosmetics essentially from AB walnut oil, AB wild plants and other marvels from the family estate. Our walnut oil soap in the shape of a walnut is a must. You'll also find other very local products: walnuts, walnut oil, honey, chestnut cream, herbal teas, candles, hourglasses and cards.

The Lambert family welcomes you for a tour of the farm and a presentation of their work. Typical local farm, located on the Fouleix hiking trail (n°7): 8.5 km, 2 hours (easy). Farm products: cows, sheep, pigs and vegetables.

Since 2017, we've been running a small walnut grove (certified organic in 2022) whose nuts we process into golden, fragrant virgin oil. We also produce whole walnuts, plain or caramelized kernels for gourmets! Thanks to our beehives, and our dear bees, we offer another treasure? Périgord honey. Jams, herbal teas and mushrooms, as well as candles, wax and wraps, all from our estate, complete our range. Our farm store also lets you discover the products of our neighbors (Bergerac wines, goose and duck preserves, organic beers and fruit juices, etc.). Open Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 9am to 12pm, other days by appointment (closed in January and February). A baker delivers to the site most mornings and a catering service is available several nights a week. The on-site restaurant offers dinner from mid-March through October.
