Discover the Marian city of Pontmain, a major pilgrimage site in the west of France since the apparition of Mary in 1871. From the gîte, escape to Mont Saint Michel, just an hour and 15 minutes away by car. Professional stay: 5 people maximum (5 beds and 3 bedrooms) - Cleaning compulsory 1 per stay from 1 to 14 nights. Weekend stay: from Friday 4pm to Sunday 4pm (to be agreed with the owner). Weekly stay: arrival from 4pm and departure at 10am.

The public garden of the Cour aux Canons is a terrace typically inspired by Italian Renaissance architecture and offers a panoramic view of the city: castle, ponds, old town... In this very pleasantly flowered city, your steps will naturally guide you towards the promenade of the ponds. You will discover the remains of the Matignon-Grimaldi park (17th century) including a very pretty waterfall, the health courses, the playgrounds for your children, the mini golf, nature in the heart of the city.

Church of St-Ortaire of the VIth Century. St-Ortaire preached the Gospel to the pagans before returning to the Bocage, the region of his birth, where he lived for 38 year in a grotto as a true hermit. Built on a rocky promontory dominating the Vire, this small XVIIth Century church is situated on the road from St Jacques de Compostelle to Mont Saint Michel as the shells on the cross, near to the access road, clarify. The interior of the church, which is typical of the Bocage, shelters the statue of St Ortaire.

This castle of the 16th and 17th centuries comprises three wings built around a main courtyard which opens to the west onto the Cour aux Canons. Located at Torigni-sur-Vire, the ancient fiefdom of two descendants of William the Conqueror, this beautiful dwelling belonged to the famous Matignon family for more than three centuries. It suffered substantial damage during the Revolution. Flanked by an armoured pavilion which was added in 1962 on its west side, the south wing is the only part to have survived post-revolutionary deterioration. In 1817, it was purchased by the municipality who, in 1840, had the east pavilion built to reestablish the architectural balance. On 12 June 1944, after Torigni town centre was bombarded, only the four walls of the castle remained. The efforts of successive town councils to restore the castle, while not returning it to its original splendour, have ensured that it remains an impressive Historic Monument. Today, the castle houses the council services, a meeting room and two reception rooms. The gallery on the 1st floor regularly hosts temporary exhibitions and themed displays (paintings, photographs, postcards, etc.).

Built according to Eiffel's plans, the bridge that crosses the river formerly provided a rail link between Vire and Caen. Only the metal bridge deck was destroyed and the pillars are still in place today. A new suspended bridge is used as a platform for bungee jumping and a giant zip-line.
