Magnac Laval is a town with a rich historical and religious past. It is the capital of the Basse Marche region in the heart of the Haut Limousin. This tour takes you through the town and along the route of the nine-place procession that takes place every year in Magnac-Laval on Whit Monday, in honor of Saint-Maximin. This ancient custom (4th century) has always been a lively and popular one.

This tour, approved by the French Cycling Federation, takes you along the Droux roads towards Rancon, with its fortified church, lantern of the dead, art galleries and Buddhist retreat and study center. It then follows the Couze valley to the market towns of Balledent, Roussac and Saint Symphorien sur Couze, before joining the Gartempe valley in the direction of Châteauponsac, a village perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the river. From there, it follows the Semme valley towards Villefavard, with its temple and model farm, now a cultural venue for musical creation and concerts, before heading back to Magnac-Laval.

The Prieuré des Bronzeaux is the only remaining Grandmontain monastery in the Limousin region. After being farmed for several centuries and gradually falling into ruin, it was saved by a S.C.I created for the occasion by members of the Groupe d'Etudes et de Recherches sur les Grandmontains (G.E.R.E.G). The site has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1999. Discover the cloister courtyard, chapter house, monastic refectory, cellar and upstairs dormitory. L'étang des Pouyades is 9 hectares specially designed for fishing! In this pond, you'll find mostly carp between 8 and 15 kg and some between 20 and 28 kg, pike-perch, pike-perch, tench, sturgeon, some whitebait and roach. There are six pontoons, 4 of which are accessible to people with reduced mobility. The use of bait boats is prohibited on the pond.
