This 41-kilometre circuit will give you the chance to see 28 of the 60 remarkable trees listed in the Attert Valley Nature Park, as well as the 14 main villages in the commune of Attert.These trees, which are exceptional owing to their age, their size, their shape, their past or the legend that surrounds them, are known as Remarkable Trees. They represent a natural and cultural heritage that must be preserved. The Attert valley remarkable trees circuit aims to give you a chance to discover them. This 13-kilometre circuit offers the opportunity to discover the magnificent castle building and the park that surrounds it, which provides the perfect setting for a number of statues by famous artists. The path leaves the small town and climbs towards the fields and the Huuscht massif before crossing through the village of Petit-Nobressart. The route leaves the Grand Duchy and runs along the first foothills of the Ardennes, offering a broad panoramic view across the Attert valley, the last valley in Lorraine. The waymarked path then drops down towards Grendel, skimming the edge of the village before passing the cross-border Grendel marsh nature reserve. The Cuesta Route partly crosses landscapes overlooked by the first Lorraine ridge, known as the Sinemurian cuesta.The landscape in the Attert valley is characterised by meadows and groves interlaced with small streams. These varied natural environments provide an ideal habitat for a wide range of flora and fauna. Each village has retained its authenticity and its harmony. Many old residences and agricultural buildings dating from the 18th and 19th centuries can still be admired here. The paths are dotted with crosses and calvaries in local stone. Many farms and buildings with traditional architecture are present in the municipality of Attert, reflecting an important rural past. This ‘Post pour tous’ walk is fully accessible.The circuit, which follows only asphalted roads, has been adapted to suit people with reduced mobility. Explore various villages in the commune of Attert along this ten-kilometre walk. This walk will take you through two villages. First of all, it will lead you across the slopes of Parette before heading towards Nothomb. The water course of the same name will guide you part of the way along your route, most of which is wooded. Among the discoveries to be made as you go are chapels and a border milestone. Start: at the exit of Nothomb heading towards Parette, near the explanatory panel (Rue de l'Or – 6717 Nothomb).Waymarking: blue rectangle on white background.

This walk offers an original way to discover the village of Tontelange and the surrounding area. Several frames are dotted along the route, providing a novel means of admiring the viewpoints in front you a different way. This ten-kilometre circuit starts near Oberpallen school, which is one of the first buildings in the commune to have been renovated using ecological materials. You will soon cross the border, where you will find a panel explaining the history of the Belgian-Luxembourg milestones. You will then come to the village of Tontelange, cross the Heidknapp, the heather-covered hill, pass near the old state-owned mill, the Grübermühle, and climb the first Sinemurian cuesta up the steepest side to reach the superb village of Guirsch, before dropping down again to the starting point. Start: Oberpallen church (you can also start near the school in Tontelange).Waymarking: red rectangle on white background.

Travel along the country roads between the green Attert Valley and the Luxembourg border, and discover small heritage treasures such as mills and washhouses, as well as beautiful panoramas.

This 14-kilometre walk will take you to explore the villages of Lischert and Metzert. Don’t miss the piste vita fitness trail of Freylange, where you will be able to try out a few exercises on the 22 stations provided. You will then go through Beynert wood, where a beautiful viewpoint will give you an opportunity to admire the city of Arlon from a distance, with its two churches, Saint Donatus and Saint Martin. Rich in the Gallo-Roman past of Arlon, the museum houses an impressive collection that bears witness to the daily life of this period.One of the peculiarities of the museum is its imposing and rich lapidary collection, composed of several dozen fragments of ancient funerary monuments.These blocks and the objects from Roman craftsmanship will teach you more about daily life at that time.

Museum Gaspar is housed in the residence of the middle-class family Gaspar from Arlon who had set up in this house (1893) that was built in 1842. It was renovated in 2004. The two most famous members of this family are animal sculptor Jean-Marie Gaspar (1861-1931) and Charles Gaspar (1971-1950) who was a photographer and a sponsor. He gave his house to the town of Arlon on the condition they make a museum of it, dedicated to his brother's work and that put into honour the history and the heritage of Arlon. At the first floor, theree are two restored salons identical to a middle-class salon from the early 20th century that show Jean-Marie Gaspar's sculptures. and the art and picture collection of Charles Gaspar. The rest of the first floor is dedicated to temporary exhibitions of the museum that alternates artv and history. A religion room shows collections about the abbey of Orval and to the people's devotion at the 18th century, and also relics from the ancient Saint-Martin church. But the Masterpiece is the famous altarpiece Retable de Fisenne - a 16th century masterpiece from the Antwerp school. It was bought in 1893 by a middle-class family from Arlon, the family Gaspar. Jean Gaspar (1861-1931) was a sculptor. He was trained by the Antwerp sculptor Jef Lambeaux. His works are in bronze and in plaster and they are exhibited in the salons that have been restorated as they were in his house. His brother Charles (1871-1950) was a photographer, a collector and a sponsor. He gave this house to the town of Arlon. It hosts the library of the Archaeological Institute of the Belgian Province of Luxembourg and its secretary office since 1954. A wide part of the museum is also dedicated to temporary exhibitions about art and history of Arlon.

Under a slate roof, this building from 1547 is of the “Halle-Kirche” type: three low naves with pointed vaults are separated by cylindrical columns with an octagonal base.The tower, massive and blind, is topped by a spire above an octagonal bulbous bulge. The wide arched portal is equipped with a beautiful studded oak door.In 1912, Saint-Etienne was deconsecrated and a new church was built. This remarkable building was classified in 1938.

The Nature Park of the Valley of the Attert regroups the 17 villages and hamlets.of the entity and it is wide 7.195 ha. It borders the Forest of Anlier in the Ardennes and the cuestas of the Belgian Lorraine, which makes it has a great nature diversity. The Nature Park of the Valley of the Attert was created in 1994. It is located on the whole entity of Attert, and this makes it is wide 7095 ha. It is located half way between Arlon and Martelange and it borders the Forest of Anlier in the Ardennes and the famous cuestas of the Belgian Lorraine. It is this originality that makes it has a great nature richness. A nature park is a rural territory with a high interest for biology, landscapes, and heritage, which is subjected to measures that aim to ensure a lastable development in harmony with what its people want and with the social and economic development of the area. The marked walks that cross the valley are a good way to discover the varied landscapes and the 17 villages and hamlets the Nature Park is made of.  The Octofun space consists of 8 modules and panels spread out in an orchard on various topics: bird song, treasure hunting, tree leaf identification, etc.It is aimed at everyone, children and adults alike, as the information presented is at several levels.Each module offers a fun challenge for the little ones while more detailed information is also available on the panel.Located at the back of the Attert town hall, the Octofun space of the Natural Park finds its place in an old orchard that allows a safe discovery in the heart of nature.

It is located at the crossroad and dated 1620. It belongs to the entity, and its outside restoration was made in the context of the rural restoration whereas the inside restoration was payed by the inhabitants. The chapel has a windowless front, excepted for a little door with a moulded frame. Its top is made of pinnacle with a pyramide-shaped top.
