This route starts from the parking of the lake at the bottom of the castle in direction of the water tower of the village. This last one is the highest point of the village, it allows you to admire the southern side of the Dropt Valley and the magnificent landscapes around. This itinerary plunges you in the middle of nature by crossing several forests, like the forest of Caussegro. Your journey will be punctuated by the flow of the Calege stream which mixes with the sounds of nature and its animals. By following this mountain bike route, you will discover the hilly landscapes, between orchards, crops and woods.

You'll set off from the Lauzun market hall towards the lake below the village. From the "Tuquets", you'll have a lovely view of the rolling countryside, orchards and crops that surround you. This route allows you to discover the richness and beauty of our countryside. Please note that until further notice, the Gardouille communal road passing through a private home is closed. You'll have to bypass this passage via the departmental road.

From Lauzun to Miramont-de-Guyenne, from the banks of the Escourrou lake to those of the Saut du Loup, the itinerary unfolds in an undulating landscape, between vineyards and orchards, traditional crops and woods. From the medieval bridge built over the Dropt to the Dourdenne mill, passing by the dovecotes of the elegant farmhouses, you will discover a varied and unsuspected heritage. Bastides, sauvetés, medieval frescoes and castles will take you back in time, and perhaps you will be won over by the story of the "intriguing" Duke of Lauzun...

Departure from the parking of the lake at the bottom of the castle, to venture along the route to discover the four churches of the commune: the church of Saint-Etienne with its classified altarpiece and pulpit, the church of Saint-Macaire, the chapel of Saint-Pastour de Queyssel and the church of Saint-Nazaire. During the route, you will also discover the church of the neighboring village, Saint-Colomb-de-Lauzun. This mountain bike itinerary allows you to discover the architectural heritage while taking advantage of the shaded wooded areas and the banks of the Dropt for a little coolness.

Saint-Colomb owes its name to Saint Colomban, Irish bishop. This church built in the XIth and XIIIth centuries is listed as a historical monument. The portal of this building represents the mystery of the Holy Trinity. It was redesigned in the 16th century. In the 19th century it took its final shape. The French Revolution destroyed all the interior furnishings and statuary except for a polychrome stone statue from the 16th century which became the object of devotion. The seven arches of the main sanctuary represent the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit and the seven sacraments. The interior paintings of the 19th century are the work of an artist from Agen, Mr. Tartas.

The Château de Lauzun is a wonderful example of Renaissance architecture, thanks to its central doorway, wing and fireplaces. The château also features a votive altar.

The altarpiece and pulpit of the church of Saint-Etienne de Lauzun were made in the 17th century This furniture was installed in the Récollets convent before being moved after the French Revolution. The central painting of the famous altarpiece is the famous Saint Francis of Assisi receiving the stigmata, modelled on the representations given at the beginning of the 17th century by the Flemish painter Pourbus Le Jeune de Rubens. They have been classified as Historic Monuments since 1910 and have been entirely restored since January 2012.

This Gothic-style church was rebuilt in the 16th century, and again in the Second Empire between 1866 and 1871. The two columns and capitals over the steeple and the main door, which has 7 broken arches, are all that remain from the original Romanesque church. The door was modified in the 16th century by the addition of an unsightly tympanum (or decorative wall surface) featuring a statue of the Virgin Mary. The altar and the altar piece (listed as a site of historical interest) originate from the ancient chapel at the Récollets convent, which was built in 1623 and demolished during the French Revolution. The church’s pulpit dates from 1623.

The Maison aux Cariatides is a Neo-Classical building constructed around 1830, which features caryatids (sculptures of female figures with no arms, which serve as supporting columns). Its façade is listed as a historical site of interest, and is one of the most popular attractions in Lauzun. The building itself is private.
