Le retable de l'église Saint-Etienne
Description
The altarpiece and pulpit of the church of Saint-Etienne de Lauzun were made in the 17th century
This furniture was installed in the Récollets convent before being moved after the French Revolution. The central painting of the famous altarpiece is the famous Saint Francis of Assisi receiving the stigmata, modelled on the representations given at the beginning of the 17th century by the Flemish painter Pourbus Le Jeune de Rubens. They have been classified as Historic Monuments since 1910 and have been entirely restored since January 2012.
