Hiking through the Haute-Vienne in the magnificent massif of the Monts d'Ambazac, the first western foothills of the Massif Central, which culminate at 701 m altitude. You will walk through the Limousin mountains and its historical heritage. This hike will offer you many panoramas on the Monts d'Ambazac, and will take you through forests of deciduous trees, conifers and beech trees. Dive into the history of the 12th century, with the chapel of the monastic order of Grandmont (variant), and discover the many villages with traditional architecture.

The path of the monks of Grandmont is a magnificent hiking trail in the heart of the mountains of Ambazac! You will discover during this walk the history of the monks of Grandmont whose order was the most widespread in Europe at the end of the 13th century.

This hike takes you to discover La Jonchère-Saint-Maurice and the Monts d'Ambazac. There are two variants, a sportier 16km version and a 13.6km version. Along the way, you'll discover small heritage sites, typical landscapes and the Jonchère arboretum, a listed site managed by the ONF, which offers a signposted trail to discover the different tree species.

This circuit will give you the opportunity to combine the past and the present, from the kaolin extraction pits, the origin of Limoges porcelain, to the extreme outdoor activities of our time, mountain biking and paragliding. The majestic trees are the lords of the woods and tell the story of this green setting. Variant of 1h30 and 5,6 km.

A pleasant walk, without any particular difficulties, which will enable you to discover the local heritage (churches, Saint-Sulpice station and its alignments of ginkgo biloba trees, fountain and drinking trough) and to walk through the forest and the pond area.

This tour for experienced hikers begins by passing the prisoners' cross, a place of remembrance, then continues through undergrowth to join the forest track that leads to the village of Traspont. The slightly technical descent takes you to the pretty, unspoilt village of Noueix. Beforehand, you'll have admired a beautiful Limousin farmhouse. After a dry climb of 2 km, the rocky chaos of the "pierre branlante" (wobbly stone) is the highest point, with a splendid semi-circular view of over 50 km. The return journey is a leisurely one on wide paths through the forest, passing under the impressive jumps of the Singletraks Bike Park, where you're sure to come across downhill mountain bikers.

This 5 km walk will make you discover the village of Razès and the surrounding nature. You can enjoy the panorama of the Monts d'Ambazac and the sunken paths. A variant of 3 km allows families to easily discover the town.

This trail will make you discover the natural heritage of Razès, with its wetlands and pastures, its fauna and its preserved flora. Do not miss the Natura 2000 site dedicated to the Great Murin (bat) to learn more about this unusual species. Also worth seeing are the villages and the Old Razès district with the Berry house listed as a Historic Monument.

The village of Razès offers itself to hikers with this circuit of Silord. This is an easy, short walk, 20 minutes from Limoges, with a slight difference in altitude. You will discover paths lined with low dry stone walls, sunken paths, the Maison Berry (a listed building), Razès and its 12th century church, the village of Silord and its rural architectural heritage, wooded areas and streams. You are very close to the lake of Saint-Pardoux and its activities (swimming, sailing, tree climbing, mountain biking, indoor swimming pool, water skiing...).

Singletracks Bike Park in the Monts du Limousin straddles 3 communes and caters for beginners and experienced mountain bikers from all over France. Before being the only Bike Park of its kind in France, it is first and foremost the spot of the Singletracks Assos, a group of buddies who shapone the trails. With a vertical drop of 300 m, you can hurtle down 16 trails from green to black over 150 ha. Whatever your age or level, you'll be able to jump, bend, flow and take on a few dirt bumps at the top of the spot. Take advantage of the shuttle lifts, the Pumptrack and all the other facilities on offer.

Domaine du Vignau is a magnificent property comprising a gîte in the 18th-century manor house and a 2nd gîte in the orangery. The gîte in the orangery has its own private heated swimming pool, open from May 15 to September 15, weather permitting, and a jacuzzi (not usable the day before departure from midday for all week-long rentals in July and August). Shops within walking distance (400 m) via private driveway lined with century-old trees. Hiking trails at the foot of the gîte, bike park with mountain bike rental. The Domaine du Vignau consists of the gîte l'Orangerie (sleeps 15) and the superb 18th-century manor house, which opens onto a courtyard of honor surrounded by outbuildings. The gîte has its own private, heated 10 m x 4 m swimming pool, open from mid-May to mid-September (weather permitting), and reserved exclusively for this gîte. A lovely private driveway provides easy access on foot or by bike to La Jonchère and its shops and services (400 m). A group of boulders weighing over a thousand tonnes, the smallest measuring at least 20 cubic metres. 2 of these boulders are remarkable: the 1st is ellipsoidal in shape, very flat and almost 11 metres long. It would have once served as a sacrificial stone; the second has the curious shape of a boletus with a thick stem, and would have been reserved for the punishment of petty criminals. Could this be the site of the ruins of the ancient Temple of Oziac?

Classified as a nature reserve, the site offers the chance to walk among ashy heather, mountain arnica, sphagnum moss (a type of plant sponge that retains up to 30 times its own weight in water), absorbent cotton (white cottony balls) and drosera, a small carnivorous plant. Walkers can also observe the Dolomède, a spider that hunts on the surface of the water. Two trails (2 and 5 km) allow you to explore the site. The departmental application "Les illusions des Dauges" (Explor Games© to download beforehand) provides a fun way to learn about the management, fauna and flora of the peat bog. The CEN Nouvelle-Aquitaine organizes exhibitions and free outings during the summer.

Take your time for a leisurely picnic, but above all, don't forget to visit the miraculous Notre Dame de Sauvagnac chapel - it's well worth the detour! And there's much more to discover in this typical village, both natural and architectural!

The mountain village of Sauvagnac now boasts a parking lot that blends in perfectly with its beautiful natural surroundings. A picnic table completes the facilities, so make the most of it!

This church was built towards the end of the 12th century, but little remains of this period, as it was largely rebuilt in the 15th century. It is in the shape of a Latin cross and is very compact. The floor is largely composed of tombstones. It is said to have been the chapel of a castle destroyed by the Black Prince and rebuilt as a church in the 15th century. It comprises a single nave with 3 bays, the last of which forms the choir with its flat chevet. Two side chapels are located in the second bay. The first 2 bays are rib-vaulted with sculpted keystones. Fragments of paint dating back to the construction of the church can be seen under the plaster on the vaults. A quadrangular niche has been built into the north masonry of the choir, and a round-arched doorway added to communicate with the sacristy, surmounted by the date 1747.

The Millier stone registered site is situated at an altitude of 516 m on the left bank of the Couze river. Paths lined with old beech trees and ancient low walls lead to the summit, which features the rocky chaos of the Millier stone. The latter is made up of a series of rounded granite blocks stacked up to 6 m high. This geological curiosity is the result of natural granite erosion.

Béatrice welcomes you to her old-fashioned bistro. It's the only shop in this little rural spot on the edge of the Dauges peat bog and close to a hiking trail of the "pierre branlante". In the back of the store, she has set up a small grocery selling very local products from producers within a few miles. She sometimes organizes small festive evenings, concerts and shows, in all simplicity. Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. During school vacations and public holidays, same opening hours from Wednesday to Sunday.
