Starting from the town hall square, a 9.4 km hike, along the Côle river, where you will admire a beautiful needle arch with a resurgence of the river. You will then pass under the ruins of the castle of Bruzac, before going up in the forest. On the way back, you will pass near the castle (private property but can be visited by appointment: 06 11 40 55 37).

This trail was created in collaboration with the Saint-Pierre-de-Côle school. Au Fil du Temps?s heritage coordinators organized 4 thematic sessions for the school?s pupils, as well as writing for the videos. On each station, you'll discover a video made with a group of students. After several field trips, they produced the questions themselves and interviewed local specialists.

Leave for 6 days and 150 km of horseback riding and discover the heritage of the Parc Naturel Régional Périgord Limousin. This 4th stage leaves from St jean de côle towards Brantôme . On your way you will be able to visit the Villars cave and admire its paleolithic paintings, in particular "the little blue horse", the emblem of the cave. After the cave and the village of lavergne, you will see the Castle of Puyguilhem. This historic monument of the first renaissance period is worthy of the most beautiful residences of the Loire Valley and deserves a small detour. Then you can go and discover the Cistercian abbey of Boschaud. Founded in the 12th century and partly destroyed during the Wars of Religion, the abbey combines the great Cistercian principles with a typical Périgord style. Rediscovered in the 19th century, the remains of the buildings are imbued with a very strong spirituality

From Négrondes, after a nice little hike on the way of Saint Jacques "voie de Vézelay", you can visit the truffle eco-museum in Sorges. To discover the landscapes and the plants related to the truffle, marked out paths lead the visitor in the heart of the forest and the causse where the truffle fields are located.

In the heart of the medieval village, there are remains of its original construction in the 12th century, then its reconstructions during the 15th,16th and centuries. You will visit the outside of the castle and the 17th century main staircase. Guided tour from july to september at 3pm and 5 pm.

The Causses de Cesserou farm offers products from its AB-certified free-range pigs. Louis and Maël also raise laying hens and Landes ewes! And they grow vegetables too!

If you take a little time to observe the church, you will discover modillions: barrel confirms the presence of vines in the town! The church has preserved its 12th century bell tower. Inside, murals have been discovered. Go and admire them !

The Guionie Castle, situated in Lempzours, raises on the location of an old templar commandery where remains cellars from the 12th century. The Guionie Castle was the fiefdom of the Béron, the Normand and the Siorac. Reshuffled many times, has been set on fire in 1569 during religion wars, today buildings have been rebuild during the first part of Louis XIV's reign, 1660-1690.

Built on top of a promontory, the church of Petit Jumilhac is one of the rare templar churches in the Périgord (four are inventoried by the Order of Malta). The Romanesque style chapel has a circular apse whose outer modillions present interesting heads of human figures. Its small retable evokes the legend of a knight.

Former chapel of a Benedictine priory dating from the 12th century, the parish church of La Chapelle-Faucher was in pure Romanesque style with cupola and numbered three bays. Very damaged by the English in the 14th century, it lost one bay during its restoration. The portal was moved to the south side of the second bay along with what remained of the sculptures of the old door. The apse has the shape of a semi dome, the crossing is still surmounted by a cupola on pendentives. A Gothic style lateral chapel, added on the south side, is owned by the landlord. The inside of the church is ornamented with mural paintings protected by a plaster coating.

Linette and Anthony have taken over the Pisciculture de Fon Pepy, where they grow trout. Fresh, smoked or processed into rillettes or galettes, you can find them at the markets in Piégut-Pluviers, Excideuil, Brantôme and Thiviers. From March onwards, fishing on the estate will be possible for cardholders.

The warm setting of the terrace in summer, a table by the fireplace in winter will give you the opportunity to taste the tasty dishes! Nathalie and Cyril prepare traditional dishes and even pancakes! Everything is home made.
