Leaving Mulhouse, a city of art and history with a rich industrial past, you'll take the Rhône-Rhine canal cycle route (southern branch), then ride through the Hardt forest to Ottmarsheim and its Romanesque abbey church on the banks of the Rhine. Then on to Kembs, Saint-Louis and Huningue on the legendary EuroVelo15 - Rhine cycle route. After crossing the Passerelle des Trois Pays, you'll make a brief foray into Germany at Weil am Rhein, then into Switzerland at Basel and the Basel countryside. You then continue towards the Sundgau and Alsatian Jura, with a well-earned break in Ferrette. You then head north again, following the bucolic Véloroute de la vallée de la Largue to Dannemarie. After a short stretch on the EuroVelo6 along the Rhone-Rhine Canal cycle route (southern branch), you'll head for Thann on little-traveled country roads, with a brief passage through the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park. Continue along the Thur Valley cycle route to Cernay, then through the potassic basin to Ensisheim and Mulhouse, following the EuroVelo5 - Via Romea.

An ideal walk for the whole family and suitable for pushchairs: stroll through the streets of the town of Thann, far from the usual routes, to discover other nooks and crannies and beautiful unspoilt areas in the peace and quiet of the heights of the town. Highlight: Part of the walk takes you into the shade of the forest, overlooking the town of fir trees.

On the way of Santiago de Compostella, a new step ahead of you: From Thann, known for its Gothic jewel, the Collegiate Church of Saint-Thiébaut, to the convent of Saint Joseph in Bellemagny. An hilly step between forests and meadows, in the quiet, perfect to recharge your batteries. a visit to the village of Guewenheim, where a break at the Notre-Dame-des-Bouleaux chapel is deserved. In Alsace, the Compostella way is of course marked by the scallop shell but most of the time associated to a sign of the Club Vosgien. A beautiful outing following in the footsteps of the GR5 towards the Col du Hundsrück, a viewpoint on the Route Joffre linking the Thur and Doller valleys. The word "Weierle", which means "small pond" in Alsatian, gave its name to this walk. It's an interesting itinerary with a steep gradient. Its strong point: picnic areas along the route make it easy for children to enjoy.

The Cross of Lorraine, a 12 m high building, dominates the town of Thann. A symbol of the Alsatian Resistance at the end of the Second World War, the foundation stone was laid by General de Gaulle on 1 August 1948. The lighting of this monument, built on the Staufen hill, recalls the flame of the Resistance evoked in General de Gaulle's appeal of 18 June. A family walk to see THann from above. The highlight is the superb view over the town, the Alsace plain and sometimes the Alps.

A hike with a thousand facets of the natural landscapes that make up the charm of our beautiful Thur valley: Col du Hundsruck, Rossberg stubble fields, Thannerhubel, Martisplatz... before arriving at the Col du Staufen and its cross overlooking the town of Thann. These are more remote peaks, but well worth the diversions. A challenging hike with almost 904m of ascent. Its strong point: the farmhouse inn halfway along the route and the picnic areas with shelters and barbecues.

A long hike over the heights of the Vosges mountains, taking in the "Molkenrain" above the Hartmannswillerkopf military cemetery (1914-1918) and then the Freundstein. A hike for experienced walkers. Its highlight: the farmhouse inns along the way, where you can enjoy a traditional local meal and build up your strength for the return journey.

The Bangards path in Thann. In former times, the Rangen was covered by the Bangards - the “wine guardians” whose task was to guard the precious vineyard, which was the source of Thann’s wealth. You will be following one of these Bangards to discover the Southernmost vineyard in Alsace - the only one in the region to be entirely classified Great Vintage. Its south-facing hillsides cover a surface area of 22 hectares, with slopes of up to 45°. This vineyard produces 3 exceptional grapes: Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer. You may choose from three routes, marked out by 19 educational signposts. Follow the Bangards signs.

Leaving from Thann town centre, head off into the forest to discover the secret, secluded Grumbach valley and finish this walk along the banks of the river Thur. It's a walk that's off the beaten track but still accessible to as many people as possible. Its highlights: the viewpoint at Roche Albert and the passage along the river.

Departing from Lausanne, head to the medieval town of Gruyères, home to the famous Swiss cheese!  Leave Lausanne by bus and climb up into the alpine pastures to reach Gruyères.  After a tour around the town, your guide will take you to a Swiss chocolate factory to show you how famous Swiss chocolate is made.  Then head to an old alpine cheese factory. Enjoy a Swiss cheese tasting and learn more about the national dish: fondue.  Learn to make your own Swiss fondue and try the traditional dish.  After your meal, relax and climb on board the Golden Express, a panoramic train which crosses the alpine pastures and the heights of Lake Geneva. Enjoy incredible views of the lake and the Alps. When you get off the train, get back on your bus and head to Lavaux and its terraced vineyards. The Faience Factory of Doller is a small artisanal company specialized in the work of the earth. It produces art pottery and objects used in dowsing. Some of our achievements are presented and can be ordered on this site others are to discover in our shop open from Tuesday to Friday or on our Facebook page: Faïencerie de la Doller. Guided tours of the pottery workshop on reservation. Every last weekend of August, there is the Potters' Market, a gathering of 45 exhibitors with entertainment and Raku shows for 3 days!

The Church of Saint Maurice in Guewenheim was built in 1760. Silent witnesses to history, its walls were severely damaged during the two world wars. Between 1958 and 1965, a complete restoration restored its dignity, respecting its original architecture. Inside, two altars attract attention: one dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary and the other to Saint Anthony of Padua. Made of wood and stucco, they were painted in 1833 by Antoine Feuerstein, as was the tomb of the high altar, executed in an elegant neoclassical style. The main altarpiece depicts Saint Maurice receiving the crown of martyrs from the hands of Christ, a striking work by Heinrich Kaiser. The baptismal font, meanwhile, comes from the old church, preserving a tangible link with the village's religious past. The organ, built in 1833 by Joseph Stiehr, has survived the ages thanks to several successive restorations carried out by Rinckenbach, Thomann and then Louis-François Callinet, thus perpetuating a musical tradition at the heart of the liturgy.

Upstairs the first media library Haute-Alsace specialized in the field of land, accessible on request. Visit the museum and the geological trail on the 1st Sunday of the month with the visit of the Wolfloch cave!

The Church of Saint George in Sentheim was built in 1779, based on plans by architect Gaspard Mertz, who was working for Masevaux Abbey at the time. It replaced the village's old church, becoming a new place of worship at the heart of the community. The interior of the church still has remarkable liturgical furniture, made entirely of wood: the choir altars, side altars, confessionals and pulpit bear witness to the craftsmanship of the time. The bell tower was added during the 19th century. The organ, built between 1787 and 1788 by the organ builder Rabigny, is pneumatic. It has undergone several major transformations: first by Callinet in 1841, then by Martin Rinckenbach, who modernised it while respecting its original character. Behind the high altar, an imposing oil painting depicts Saint George slaying the dragon, a symbol of faith and the victory of good over evil. Opposite the church, a small square features a Lourdes grotto with a fountain, as well as a war memorial, a place of remembrance and contemplation for the local residents.

There is a bench next to this oratory where you can take a pleasant break. Take the path on the left towards Berrwiller.

Discover the new generation of tree climbing! Acropark'Burnhaupt is a unique location in the Grand Est region with its 120 courses. Little ones can enjoy ground games, trampolines, and suspended workshops on the "Ouistiti" course, children are introduced to the "Panda and Koala" course, while teenagers and parents can enjoy the larger "acrobat" courses. An ideal park for the whole family. For groups with reservations, the course can be done at night! New activity: Laser Tag in the forest.

This oratory, as well as the following one, were probably built at the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th century.

On both sides of the path you will find World War I bunkers. These are German bunkers dating from 1916-1918 and restored by the Friends of the Hartmannswillerkopf and the Baden South West reservists.

This pretty fountain, carved from tree trunks, owes its name to Auguste Kauffmann, former mayor of Hartmanswiller, who installed it. Take the path on the left: you are on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.

Built between 1868 and 1870 under the impetus of Father Adam, who was both architect and master builder, the church of Lauw stands out as an iconic landmark of the village. Its Franche-Comté-style roof, with its geometric patterns and bright colours, is a strong element of local identity, recognisable among all others in the valley. Transferred to the municipality in 1987 by the parish council, the church, along with all its parish property, became part of the municipal heritage. Over time, the building suffered damage during the two world wars. Carefully restored, it has been returned to its former glory thanks to the successive interventions of the painters Greth and then Talenti, who have brought it back to life while respecting its spiritual character. In 2002, a significant event further strengthened the link between the parish and the municipality: two new bells were jointly acquired. This was a first, as until then the bells had come from another parish, recovered after the initial construction of the building.

The restaurant, open since June 2023, offers a daily menu and two options: a gourmet menu based on the Flavors of Alsace and a Suggestions menu which changes according to arrivals. The chef offers gourmet, tasty and imaginative cuisine. You can enjoy a beer brewed in Alsace and tartes flambées (Flammekueche) at lunchtime or in the evening. A beautiful list of around 50 wines from all over France gives pride of place to Alsace with three winegrowers and a wide range of wines by the glass. The decoration is the strong point of the room, adorned with magnificent chandeliers and woodwork created by cabinetmakers. In summer, the terrace welcomes customers in the shade of its large tree. An annex room of the restaurant with personalized decoration can be privatized for 30 people, it includes a screen and projection equipment. A team of 8 people works at the Hostellerie Alsacienne with a smile and a warm ear. The Hostellerie houses 5 apartments, gîtes for short-term rental.

This cabin represents the little Gretel from Hansel and Gretel. To live a unique moment in this cabin, go to Camping des Castors. The cabin, furniture and the beds were handmade with Vosges wood. single room, dining area and kitchen. The sleeping area is composed of a double bed and a separate bunk bed with curtains. The toilets are in common and are located 20 m from the cabin. Outside, you will find at your disposal a stone oven and a picnic area sheltered to share in common.
