The Church of Saint George in Sentheim was built in 1779, based on plans by architect Gaspard Mertz, who was working for Masevaux Abbey at the time. It replaced the village's old church, becoming a new place of worship at the heart of the community.
The interior of the church still has remarkable liturgical furniture, made entirely of wood: the choir altars, side altars, confessionals and pulpit bear witness to the craftsmanship of the time. The bell tower was added during the 19th century.
The organ, built between 1787 and 1788 by the organ builder Rabigny, is pneumatic. It has undergone several major transformations: first by Callinet in 1841, then by Martin Rinckenbach, who modernised it while respecting its original character.
Behind the high altar, an imposing oil painting depicts Saint George slaying the dragon, a symbol of faith and the victory of good over evil.
Opposite the church, a small square features a Lourdes grotto with a fountain, as well as a war memorial, a place of remembrance and contemplation for the local residents.
