Since 2020, La Maison Forte de la Massinie has been home to a pig farm. Jean and Sibylle Desmarest moved there to preserve one of the last French pig breeds, the Gascon black pig. These pigs are born on the farm and raised outdoors between the plains and the forest on more than 6 hectares of land. The farm also has a truffle field. The products are processed in Périgord according to traditional recipes (without nitrites) : sausage, coppa, dried loin, exceptional ham, terrines and preserves. They are available all year round in the farm shop, by appointment. The farm also offers platters for your events and raclette platters for the winter, available by reservation. Ferme du Séchoir products are organically grown (rainwater harvesting, drip irrigation) and wild-picked. Original and exotic products, with a desire to push the limits of what can be produced locally, given that 80% of what we eat does not come from France.
