The Pey-Berland tower, a flamboyant Gothic structure built between 1440 and 1466, is the bell tower of Saint-André cathedral in Bordeaux. The Port Cailhau, thirty-five metres tall, was integrated into the city walls. In 1864, it was rented by a public letter writer and a person whose job was to weigh salt. The Château de Rouillac, a magnificent 19th century chartreuse, belonged to the famous Baron Haussmann who produced an excellent wine. In 2010, Laurent Cisneros, a man of passion, decided to seal his destiny and that of his family in Rouillac. The “Ecomusée de la Vigne et du Vin” presents an exhibition of vine and wine tools used between 1850 and 1950. The Lac Vert recreational base was inaugurated on November 5, 1996 on the site of a seriously abandoned quarry, located at Le Camp. The lake, with an area of 12 hectares, is a place for sports fishing as well as a site appreciated by walkers and joggers.

With its 60 ha, of which 30 are wooded, the Thouars woods are home to a varied flora and fauna. A botanical trail allows you to discover these environments through a 4 km marked trail. The wood is now listed as a Classified Woodland and a natural area of national interest. It is located in the natural domain of the Atlantic Oak grove of plain and hill, where the pedunculated Oak grove dominates. Several species are rare or protected: the Tauzin Oak, the Bird's Nest Neottie and the Marsh Hottonie for the plants and the Fishing Seaman, the Pipistrelle and the Plum Pique for the animals. The Thouars Wood is also a refuge area for common wildlife.
