It owes its name to Pope Clement V who owned it in the 14th century, when it was still called Bertrand de Goth.
Today it is one of the 40 properties that Bernard Magrez, an influential wine man in Bordeaux, owns around the world!
The wine estate itself covers 90 hectares, 30 of which are laid out around a park of prime greenery and an Eiffel-style glass roof, in the young Pessac-Léognan appellation created in 1987. Did you know that? Château Pape Clément is one of the 16 Classified Growths of Graves, producing white and red wines.
A range of technical and historical tours is offered 7 days a week, to satisfy the amateur to the experienced collector, with exceptional tastings.
These visits end at the château's shop, which has borrowed shelving and furniture from an old pharmacy.
