Among olive trees and scrubland, a loop with exceptional landscapes, around a rich built and amazing heritage! Back to the Tourist Office, cross the parking lot and turn left on the CD5. 1 - Take the first left, pass the municipal pool and after the small town square, go left. At the give-way, turn right. At the exit of Maussane (road sign), pass under the aqueduct and turn right on the road between the golf course and the foothill. Follow this paved road, cross the golf course to the cattle guard. 2 - Head to the left track. In front of the boulders, leave behnd the 2nd cattle guard on the left and turn right. 50m further, go left at the start of the 18th hole. While the track goes off to the left, reach the D27 by the small road along the stone wall. Opposite Baumanière, take a right onto the D27 for 50m. 3 - Go left towards the retirement home. Continue on the road for 150m and turn left into the alley between the houses. At the next intersection, turn right, go up the trail until reaching and going along a stone wall. At the curve, go straight, go slightly up the forest track to the left. Go down and reach the D78F road. 4 - Cross the D78F then go down the opposite path. Walk along the canal to the left towards Le Paradou. At the junction of 5 roads, continue straight on the road with the oratory under Aleppo pine. 5 - Come out on the D78d, then turn right for 50m. At the oratory, turn left into the Chemin de Bourgeac. After 600m, turn left to the Méjan domain. After the olive groves, turn right onto the path that dominates the village. Facing the black metal gate, go down to the right towards the village. At the stop sign, cross the Avenue Cornille and enter the village on the opposite side. Turn left at the end of the street, then walk past the town hall, the church and the Place du Marché. After the Avenue Baptiste Blanc, go left onto the D5 to reach the car park from the start.

Welcome to Maussane-les-Alpilles, village "with a thousand fountains"! From the starting point, join the avenue des écoles and turn left into Benjamin Priaulet Park. Cross it, follow the wall of the media library on the right and take the pedestrian street of Temps Retrouvé.1- Turn right, pass the church and cross the Laugier de Monblan square on the left. Cross the avenue of vallée des Baux and go down the Charles Piquet street.2- Turn right on Charles Piquet car park and cross it to the pedestrian crossing on your right. Go up a few meters and take the Simon Barrier street on the left.3- Turn right before Simon Barnier car park. At the end of the passage, turn left and join the avenue vallée des Baux Take it on the left and turn right on a footpath just after school.4- At the end of the road, turn left. Go left on Avenue des Maronniers, then right after on the right, rue du Vieux Maussane. Continue right on Charloun Rieu street5- Turn right and take the Batignolles path. At the end of the road turn on the road des Baux. After a few meters, turn right before the bridge and follow a path in an undergrowth along a small stream. 6- Climb the slope to the right and follow the path lined with almond trees. Go down the steps on the right and join the Agora parking. Cross it, as well as the Avenue des Alpilles and find the starting point, Henri Giraud square.

Come observe the birds which have left the hills to spend winter in these rocks, one of the best sights of France! From the car park, take a left on the path that goes around the curve, below the castle. At the sign "Chapelle de Trémaïé", continue on the path to bypass the village of Les Baux-de-Provence. After the short descent, pass the Black Madonna of Baux-de-Provence. Then go up the stairs towards the village. 1 - When reaching the car park, turn right and climb the stairs. Once through the door of the ramparts and the last steps, continue straight and leave the ecomuseum on your left. At the next intersection, turn left. 2 - Once out of the village, turn right and climb the road. Go straight to reach the D27a and follow it until the car park from the starting point.

Discover the landscapes evoking the Hell of Dante by browsing the Val d'Enfer ! With your back to the Tourist Office, turn right and cross the esplanade. At the end, go down the stairs and follow the road on the left. At the intersection, follow the road to the right in direction of Maillane. Go past the Quarries of Lights, ignore the road that goes down to the left, and just after the sign of end of agglomeration take on the right the way marked PR. Continue straight on this road for 500 m. 1- At the crossing, turn right on the blue marked path, then ignore the path on your left. At the next intersection, climb the path to the left and continue for 1 km. Ignore the path on your left and join immediately after a crossroads near a buried cistern. 2- Take the marked GR® trail on the left and follow it to a DFCI barrier. Climb the very wide path on the right leading to a panorama. Go down the path on the left. Follow the road on the right for 200 m to reach the pierced rock. Return of the descended path by foot. 3- Turn right on the path, follow it for 500 m, and find the intersection of point1. Go down the path already practiced in the other direction and join the end of agglomeration sign. Follow the road towards the Carrières de Lumières and take the marked road PR on the right. Follow it on 200 m. 4- At the level of the stone, engraved ""Le Val d'Enfer - les Portelets", take on the right the way with the feet of the rocks on a few meters, then to return on your steps. Continue on the marked road PR, until the small parking of the old school of Les Baux On the left of the school, go up the concrete road to join the D27. 5- (Caution, traffic) Cross the road and climb the stairs on the right to a parking lot. Once on the parking lot, climb the paved street, pass a fortified gate and cross the town center of Les Baux to reach the starting point.

Leave the foot of Baux-de-Provence, and win the roof of the Alpilles by the peaceful trail of the Lombards! Back to the Carrières de Lumières car park, take the road on the left, and go directly left on a road marked PR. Continue down this road until the D27 Turn right and follow this road to the entrance of the Baumanière hotel. 1- Cross the road to reach a Department sign and take the path marked PR. At the fork, follow the path marked PR on the right. At the next intersection, turn right and then left just before a Canadian crossing. 500 m further, join another intersection and its Canadian crossing.2- bifurcate to the left on a tarmac path marked PR. Pass the Sainte-Berthe Mas and continue until the D27. Cross it, then after 150 m take path on the right marked PR. Follow it for 800 m until you reach a crossroads. Cross it and continue straight. At the next intersection keep left and join a hairpin bend. 3- At the bend, take a path marked PR on the left, preceded by a hard-wired barrier. Climb this track in laces for 3 km. At the intersection marked with a cairn, turn left on the track marked GR®, following the sign of the Department "Les Baux-de-Provence 3.7 km". At the next intersection, stay on the GR®6 and follow it for 1.7 km to a cistern. 4- 100 m further, go down on the left the marked path PR, indicated by the sign of the Department "Les Baux-de-Provence by the Val d'Enfer 2 km". At the next junction, continue straight until you reach the D27 road. Follow it to the left to find the starting point.

Stroll through the "paradise" that the landscapes of this end of the Alpilles offer ! Back to the car park, turn right on the road to Saint-Roch and join the crossing with the D17. (Caution, traffic) Cross it and follow the path of Burlande, signposted PR. 500 m further, leave the first road on the left to follow the second, following the sign "Fontvieille 10.3 km". Continue for 1 km. 1- At the intersection, turn left, following the sign "Fontvieille 9.2". (Caution, traffic) Reversing the D17 and take the path to Constemple, signposted GR® and PR. Climb on this marked path for 800 m, to join a DFCI track. 2- Take this track on the left, still signposted GR® and PR, passing a barrier. Continue for 500 m until you reach an intersection. Toggle on your left and follow for 1 km this path, marked PR, to reach a channel bridge 3- Join the D78e road and follow it straight ahead. After turning left, continue for 1 km along this road. Pass some houses, then take the asphalt road of Pas de Loche on the right. 4- At the level of a small pass, turn left on a path, marked blue on the ground. Continue for 1.7 km on this blue marked path, to reach les Tours de Castillon, passing through the summit surmounted by a cross. 5- Just after les Tours de Castillon, turn left and join an asphalt road. Walk on its left on 400 m, then in the bend turn left the path of Crèmades and the Pène. 6- At the end of the road, turn right to follow the D78e. Continue straight on for 1.2 km to the center of Paradou. At the intersection with a cross, take the road on the left and reach the starting point 150 m further.

Come roam this playful path, where you will have the leisure to discover the Castillon towers and the surrounding landscapes. At the car park, take the rocky path marked in blue which goes up a gentle slope, going along an organic olive grove on the left. 1 – Once the towers in sight, take the track which rises on the right, leaving the first turn on the left behind. When reaching the third tower, which was hidden until now, turn right then continue following the blue marked trail by going along the rocks of Pène. 2 – At the road, turn immediately left and follow it along the path of Castillon towards different Mas (Provençal farmhouses). Possible presence of cars. Continue on the road until the junction at the Saint-Jean bridge. 3 – Arriving at the "RIS" sign, turn left to take back the path that sinks again into the little massive. 1 – Back to the Castillon towers, turn right and follow the first path taken to complete the tour of the towers.

After enjoying the shade offered by beautiful pine forests, contemplate the Alpilles and Provence as you've never done! From the parking, go up track to West through the pines for join the tarred road that comes to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Follow it and take the left on the Roman Road and Panouilles. Continue to the Alpines Canal and the Chemin des Servières and Cadenières. 1- At the intersection, turn left (from this point, follow the signs GR® and PR to point 3). Stay on this paved road for 1.7 km, then climb a hill by a path. Join the DFCI track and follow it until the D27. 2- Turn left on this road, go up 250 m, then turn right on the DFCI track AL 107. Pass a barrier and go up the valley called "Gaudre de Valmouriane". After a series of laces, you get to a crossroads. 3- Take the GR®6 on the left towards Les Baux (from this point follow the GR® signs to the car park from the starting point). At the pass, join the D27. Cross it and continue 500 m on an asphalt road, on the left. After the orientation table and a barrier, continue on a track. 4- Pass the watchtower, leave the Lombards track on the right (panel), then DFCI no. AL 112 on the left. Continue for 1.3 km then turn left into a valley and return to the starting point.

A walk between a shaded valley and the sunny plateau, to listen and discover the birds of the Alpilles. At the Antiques car park, go along the D5 towards Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and turn right to reach the Saint-PaulCloister at the end of the path surrounded by trees. 1 – Opposite of the Cloister, follow the road on the right to bypass it and take the path on the right at the RIS panel (Relais Information Service) of the Alpilles Regional Park. Therefore, follow the RP marked trail (yellow), which runs through the valley and forest. 2 At the crossroads with the small paved road, turn left and follow it. Continue on the road at the next junction before the next crossroads. 3 – Continue straight on the road that rises towards the plateau of Caume. At the telecommunication tower, go left towards the GR6 for about 400m. 4 – The return begins from this point, by the same route.

Take full view, during this sensational circuit that will take you to discover the Alpilles in all their facets! The burial works of the High Voltage line of the Caume, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence will take place between 18/09/2017 and 22/12/2017, down from the telecommunication relay to the Plaines car park. Diversion routes will be set up except for the portion between Vallon de Valrugues and the plateau, on the route of Gr6, which will be completely closed for a few weeks. Consult the map of the works on the Park's website for more details. From the Antiques car park, along the D5 towards Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, and turn right to join the Cloister of Saint Paul Mausole, at the end of the path lined with plane trees. 1- Facing the Cloister, follow the road on the right to bypass it. At the Relais Information Service panel of the Alpilles Regional Nature Park, take Chemin des Carrières on the right. Follow the marked path PR (in yellow), which crosses valley and forest. 2- At the crossroads with the small paved road, follow it to the left. Continue on the road to the telecommunication tower of the Caume plateau. At the tower, turn left towards GR®6. After the sign of "Biotope", follow the ridge line to the right by a series of rocky steps. 3- After 2 km, turn to the right following the GR®6 and join the foot of the peaks. Continue between rocky passages and undergrowth to the Vallongue pass and its rocky gorge. Go down to the left to a road near the airfield (some passages require the hands). 4- Take the path on the left. From this point the circuit will be double marked PR (yellow) and GR® (red / white) until arrival. Continue for 3 km, remaining attentive to the marking, until a junction of marked paths and a property lined with walls. 5- Turn left and walk 500 m. Take a track on the right and then a small asphalt road. At the hairpin bend, turn left onto the path lined with properties. 6- At the fork stay on the right, further pass a barrier then continue to a stone cottage. After the shed, turn left. Cut the path where the GR®6 passes, go up between two wooden barriers and continue to the right on the path that joins the starting point.

Today, the Entreconque lowland contains agricultural landscapes composed of vineyards and olive trees. His farming has evolved over the centuries. Here, wheat was cultivated in the Roman era, then it was replaced by almond trees in medieval times, which gave way to the culture of the olive tree in modern times. After a major freeze in the 1950s, which destroyed most of the olive trees, the vine was in turn significantly implanted.

Between vineyards and olive trees, stands the castle of Baux-de-Provence. The oldest remains of the medieval castle of Les Baux date back to the 12th century. On the same date, the village around the castle already existed, with its few streets, its houses partly troglodytes (dug in the rock) and its two churches: Saint-Vincent in the middle of the houses on the spur and Saint-André with its cemetery at the foot of the slope.

In the Alpilles massif, numerous hydraulic structures have been built to supply all municipalities with water. The canal of the Baux valley, put in operation since July 3, 1914, passes along the southern foothills of the massif. The specificity of this environment associated with that of a canal, which must include a gentle slope allowing the good flow of water, led to the development of several canal bridges in the municipalities of Maussane-les-Alpilles and the Paradou.

""French map of the cut stone offered by the quarrymen and stonecutters of today in honour of the quarrymen and stonemasons from the past who, by erecting cathedrals and castles, chapels and modest houses built our common heritage : France." This map is 5 m by 5 and weighs 6 tons. It represents France at 1/200 000 and has as many different stones as departments. It was realized by the “Compagnons Passants Tailleurs de Pierres” association.

Completed in 1754, the church was designed in a neoclassical style by the Avignon architect Joseph Mottard. Externally, the bell tower is a tall square tower terminated by an openwork balustrade and a wrought iron campanile. The interior is a construction with 3 naves. The south side is illuminated by large windows enriched with stained glass windows of the 19th century, while the north side shows blind windows because of the mistral.

Built around 1869 by the Avignon architect Louis Astruc, it is an unexpected masterpiece for a village that only had 1800 inhabitants. In the center of a large bassin, stands a pillar supporting a cauldron. Around, four feminine figures represent the four seasons. Originally, it served as a public fountain and then became a place of refreshment for the terraces of neighbouring cafes. It also feeds the Napoleon III wash house, located nearby.

The Gaudre du Trible, takes its source north of the village of Baux-de-Provence, cross the town of Maussane-les-Alpilles and flows south in the channel of the Baux Valley. Gaudre, Provençal term meaning "small brook", refers to the natural flows of the Alpilles. These are secondary streams whose flow depends on precipitation. In the dry period, they do not flow any more or less, while during periods of precipitation, they are more abundant.

This Second Empire wash house style (Napoleon III), was inaugurated on March 26, 1865, after having been realized by the Avignon architect Louis Astruc. The inhabitants of the town came there to do their laundry, making an important social meeting place. For the period this wash house presented a great particularity : It allowed to do the laundry standing, and no longer on the knees. ;

This mural was realized in 2014 by 35 students under the mentorship of the artist Jean-Claude Quilici. The latter is a painter of Corsican origin, born in Marseille in 1941, who has a workshop in Maussane-les-Alpilles. Specialized in Provencal painting, he exhibited in the largest French, American and Japanese galleries. ;Among other things, he has created a 40m by 4m mural for the University of Corte and a 130m long mural for the Marseille metro.

This canal, measuring 53km long, was subject to a long process of reflection and design. Designed in 1792, the project will be launched over a century later, in 1914. In a landscape of steppe, it was important to develop human presence and the economy as a hydraulic network irrigates the territory to help the crops survive. This canal supplies all to itself the southern part of the Alpilles.
