Tour of 6km (2 hours) through forest and along Bruche in order to visit the oldest church of Alsace: the Dompeter. Nearby, the Pétronille source and the rest of the thousand-year-old lime tree touched down by the lightning. The path lined with red beech leads to the center of Avolsheim and the chapel Saint-Ulrich. The return path is after the Bruche bridge in the direction of Molsheim.

At the base, the Molsheim is a 5 km race through the historic center of Molsheim to support breast cancer research. It’s also a walk or a virtual race. It’s held every year on the first Friday in October. And why not do this race by bike all year long? This circuit resumes part of the course

The Jesuits have been present in Molsheim over two centuries. In the 17th century, they erected seven "Fussfall" stations on the pilgrimage route between Molsheim and Maria Altbronn chapel near Ergersheim. The pilgrimages was already developed in Maria Altbronn and the Dompeter of Avolsheim. The Fussfall is a representation of Christs' Passion on a rectangular stone placed on an octagonal column. They invite the pilgrim to kneel down to pray. The first two monuments have disappeared and therefore could no longer indicate the original beginning of the road. Five are originals and the sixth is dated from 1856 standing in front of the Grotto of Lourdes near the Dompeter.

The town of Molsheim is located on the route of the Véloroute du Vignoble. To visit the historic center, you must leave it at the Jesuit Church. This route takes you to the most interesting places in the city such as the Jesuit Church and the Chapel Notre-Dame. In the heart of the city hides a huge building on the place de l'Hôtel de ville: the Metzig, the former butcher house in the Renaissance style. Then comes the Charterhouse, a rare monastery in the city center. Through the small street you will also discover the winegrowers' houses and the former coin. The Véloroute du vignoble is located next to the Stork Park

With this route you will reach the new greenway at the foot of the hill Mont Sainte-Odile on the old railway line linking Rosheim to the former quarries of Saint-Nabor. All along the way: beautiful views and vast reservoirs of biodiversity. And, there are some contemporary art works designed by the Norwegian architect Reiulf Ramstad.

The "Sucré-salé" (Salty-sweet) tour goes off the beaten path, from the vineyard of Molsheim and Mutzig to the nearby state forest. History buffs take note: a detour by the Fort of Mutzig should be made, but keep in mind that you will need about 2.5 hours for a guided tour. If you have a sweet tooth, you may also want to stop by the honey house of Dinsheim-sur-Bruche. We have many other nice things to discover on the way. As for the cultural heritage, it can be pretty exceptional as well. For example, in Niederhaslach, we have the St. Florent Abbey, a jewel of Neo-Gothic architecture. Further East, deep into the forest of Oberhaslach, can be found three holds: the Castle of the Nideck (with the Nideck Falls Close by), the Castle of Hohenstein and the Castle of Ringelstein. For those who prefer water, let us not forget about the spa center in Soultz-les-Bains. Last but not least, why not make a stop by Avolsheim to see one of the oldest churches in Alsace: the Dompeter.

Museum Gaspar is housed in the residence of the middle-class family Gaspar from Arlon who had set up in this house (1893) that was built in 1842. It was renovated in 2004. The two most famous members of this family are animal sculptor Jean-Marie Gaspar (1861-1931) and Charles Gaspar (1971-1950) who was a photographer and a sponsor. He gave his house to the town of Arlon on the condition they make a museum of it, dedicated to his brother's work and that put into honour the history and the heritage of Arlon. At the first floor, theree are two restored salons identical to a middle-class salon from the early 20th century that show Jean-Marie Gaspar's sculptures. and the art and picture collection of Charles Gaspar. The rest of the first floor is dedicated to temporary exhibitions of the museum that alternates artv and history. A religion room shows collections about the abbey of Orval and to the people's devotion at the 18th century, and also relics from the ancient Saint-Martin church. But the Masterpiece is the famous altarpiece Retable de Fisenne - a 16th century masterpiece from the Antwerp school. It was bought in 1893 by a middle-class family from Arlon, the family Gaspar. Jean Gaspar (1861-1931) was a sculptor. He was trained by the Antwerp sculptor Jef Lambeaux. His works are in bronze and in plaster and they are exhibited in the salons that have been restorated as they were in his house. His brother Charles (1871-1950) was a photographer, a collector and a sponsor. He gave this house to the town of Arlon. It hosts the library of the Archaeological Institute of the Belgian Province of Luxembourg and its secretary office since 1954. A wide part of the museum is also dedicated to temporary exhibitions about art and history of Arlon.

The building of the "Monnaie" was designed by Jean de Manderscheid in 1573. It owes its name to the fact that money used to be coined there for a very short while. The edifice has been renovated by the municipality and assigned to the local community and culture outreach. The 56 m long (184 ft) facade features quoins from the Renaissance and 18th century windows with moldings.

The stork park of Molsheim is a real amusement for young and old, located on the Alsatian wine road at about 20 km from Strasbourg. Numerous storks' nests once adorned the roofs of the city of Molsheim. But over the years, they became rarer and the only nest that remained was often empty. In the sixties, Léopold Sédar Senghor, then President of Senegal, offered twenty storks to his friend Eugène Ferrenbach, former owner of the Cheval Blanc hotel-restaurant (an institution in Molsheim!). The municipality then built a stork park along the canal, in front of the old Coulaux factory. The storks currently in the enclosure are in convalescence and will be released later in their natural environment. In the meantime, they attract their fellow storks to settle on the nesting mats erected by the municipality.

The current town hall was inaugurated in 1832. Then-mayor, Mr. Jean-Pierre Carl, and the town council decided to raze a number of old buildings (among which the Mullenheim Mansion, the former Gothic town hall and the city archives) to build their new offices. On the facade is an avant-corps made of cast iron, with a pointed pediment on top.

This medium-sized house is none other than the former School for Girls, the birthplace of the Sisters of Divine Providence of Ribeauvillé (1783). Predating the school, the building also possesses a gabled spur walls, with a human head decorating its upper section.

In the wake of the French Revolution, the buildings of the former Jesuit School were transformed into a senatorial estate, managed by Marshal François-Christophe Kellermann, Duke of Valmy. Then, from 1827 to 1834, Bishop Le Pappe de Trévern established his "Petite Sorbonne" here. A couple of years later, in 1836, the Canonesses Regular of St. Augustine came to Molsheim from Dieuze (in Moselle) to open a boarding school: the Convent of Our Lady. For more than a century, they dedicated their lives to educating the young girls of the area, until the establishment closed down in 1954. Created by an architect from Lorraine, Léon Vautrin, the Neo-Gothic Chapel of the Canonesses (1864-1867) is devoted to the Sacred Heart. It is a sight to behold, with its neo-medieval architecture, cross-shaped layout, front gate columns and great stained glass windows on the facade and transept. After years of neglect, it was given back to the Church in 1984, thanks to the association of "The Friends of the Chapel of Our Lady". On the former grounds of the boarding school remains an oratory, previously known as the "Children's Chapel of St. Mary".

Built after 1583 for the Butchers’Corporation, the ‘’Metzig‘’ ist the most representative Renaissance building in Molsheim. The main front is topped by an onion-shaped turret with is ‘’ Jaquemart Clock ‘’ (1607) where two stone angels (1857) strike the hours and the quarters. Historical background The construction of the church was given the green light by Archduke Leopold of Austria on December, 15th 1614. Project management was entrusted to Christophe Wambser. Jean Isfording, a Jesuit in charge of the College of Molsheim, served as foreman. The first stone was laid in February 1615 and the building was finished two years and nine months later. The building According to the historian Hunckler, this Gothic style church is one of the most impressive and magnificent of the country. The inner sanctum Next to the Cathedral of Strasbourg, the Jesuit Church of Molsheim is the second largest church in Alsace, with its 61,5 x 21,5 m (201.8' x 70.5') interior and its 20 m (65.6 ft) high nave. The chorus Measuring 19,5 x 11 m (64' x 36'), the chorus has been raised and its majestic stone arch is held in place by four lions. The altar was replaced by a Neo-Gothic high-altar in 1865. The organ Built in 1781 by Jean André Silbermann, it is the only organ in Alsace with a manual of four octaves and an echo division. The Chapel of the Virgin Mary It is located on the spot of the former chapel of the St. Mary medieval hospital of Molsheim. The Chapel of St. Ignatius Formerly Chapel of the Cross. At the entrance stand four beautiful statues representing the Evangelists. The chapel took the name St. Ignatius in 1622, as a tribute to the founder of the Jesuit order. Carroussel for kids located in the town centre from mid-March to end October. The stories of the French writer Jules Verne illustrate the carroussel.

The Butchers' Guild started the construction of this beautiful Renaissance building in 1525. The Metzig formerly housed a slaughterhouse, a store and a meeting room, and remains the best example of Renaissance art style in Molsheim. It is a fine-looking two stories edifice: the ground floor with its vaulted ceiling and arches, and the first floor highlighted by its balcony balustrades. The front side features a double staircase, complemented with an onion shape tower and its automata clock from 1607, representing two stone cherubs striking the hour. In the upper part, a niche serves as a shelter for a statue of the Madonna and Child. The first floor includes a magnificent room with columns.

Real oasis in the heart of the city, the Jesuit Garden is a haven of piece amidst the most illustrious monuments. Surrounding St. Mary's Children's Chapel, benches blossom on the green lawn next to the Bugatti fountain. A small playground will delight toddlers.

Another signature dish is veal kidney, whose flavors are enhanced by Cebo Iberian ham and Cebette. On the plate, the addition of chiffonaded Iberian ham and Cebette adds a visually appealing touch. For the main course, the chef suggests roasted farmhouse duck breast, accompanied by a pineapple condiment, pan-fried duck liver and sweet potato purée. The duck breast is cut in half lengthwise, as is the duck liver. Presentation is in layers. A sweet potato purée is poured onto the plate. A pineapple condiment and a pineapple leaf complete the decoration. A little crunchy texture is provided by a pineapple potato chip placed on top. The dessert, meanwhile, is served on a plate. The dessert, meanwhile, offers sparks in the mouth. In the spotlight: a kougelhopf glazed with Alsatian mare. This pastry of Alsatian origin is served with white, red and raisins marinated in mare d'Alsace. It is best enjoyed with a glass of Gewurztraminer Vieilles Vignes from the Ribeauvillé winery.
