On the GR®6 between Preignac and Caudrot, hikers pass through the Sauternes vineyards, then follow the banks of the Garonne to the quays of Langon, in front of its Saint-Gervais church. Walkers wishing to complete this 2-day tour will find all amenities in Langon. Experienced walkers can stop off at the picnic area. After passing through the village of Saint Loubert, you arrive at Castets and Castillon, with the Château du Hamel, the Canal Latéral à la Garonne and its locks. Once across the Garonne, and before reaching Caudrot station, pass through the village via the charming Place des Tilleuls. This route is proposed by the Comité Régional de Randonnée Pédestre. Departing from a train station or TER bus stop, it allows you to join a walking or hiking itinerary and take a stroll in ecomobility!

Langon, located on the left bank of the Garonne River, less than 50 km south of Bordeaux, will be the gateway to the Graves and Sauternes-Barsac vineyards. This fun and educational trail allows children aged 6 to 12, accompanied by their families, to wander through the city. By solving puzzles and riddles, they will discover the banks of the Garonne, the orchard park and its playground, the Saint-Gervais church and the painting of the Spanish painter Zurbaran, the Maubec street and its beautiful facades, etc.

Langon is less than 50 km south of Bordeaux, on the left bank of the Garonne. The sub-prefecture of the Gironde department, Langon has a population of over 7,800. Discover Noaillan with the Municipal Youth Council! On the initiative of the Municipal Youth Council, the heritage trail was inaugurated on 17 November 2018. You leave from the site of Antonion on the edge of Ciron, you go up the Ciron river to discover the castle of Noaillan, the church, the children's forest, the Dubernet estate, the wash-house. This 2 hour walk along the water will make you discover the heritage of Noaillan. On the route, you will discover QR-Codes that you can flash with your smartphone to access additional information. This route is accessible to everyone, even children.

This route will give you the opportunity to discover the Côtes de Bordeaux Saint-Macaire appellation, characteristic sweet and syrupy white wines with aromas of honey, acacia, citrus fruits, vanilla and apricot. Beautiful views over the Garonne valley, Saint-Macaire, the Marian city of Verdelais, Malagar or Malromé will pleasantly complete your journey.

The work of several centuries, Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey, Premier Grand Cru Classé de Sauternes in 1855, has been owned by Silvio Denz, who also owns the Lalique crystal factory, since 2014 The vineyard has 18 hectares throughout the appellation. The wine tourism team will be happy to welcome you to discover the history of the vineyard and its wines as well as the fusion between the Lalique crystal factory and the world of a Premier Grand Cru Classé. In the historic cellars, you will discover the Lalique crystal barrel, a unique piece of art created to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the estate.

Château Sigalas Rabaud is the smallest estate of the 1855’s “1er Grands Crus”, with 14 hectares in one piece of homogeneous soil. At the heart of this land, you will find the Charterhouse (situated at less than 500 meters from the Château d'Yquem), surrounded by the storehouse and outbuildings. The vineyard is well exposed to the wind, which dry grapes affected by Botrytis cinerea (also known as noble rot). All the conditions are met to achieve excellence... Founded in the eighteenth century, Château La Tour Blanche is a 40 hectares estate located in the commune of Bommes. The last owner, Daniel "Osiris" Iffla, left the chateau to the French state, on the condition that a Wine School was set up offering free practical experience.

Château Guiraud takes its name from a Bordeaux negociant, Pierre Guiraud, who purchased the estate in 1766. This magnificent property is well-known for their natural approach to viticulture. Château d'Arche, a Second Classified Growth, is located in the middle of a 50 hectares vineyard above the town of Sauternes. Traditional vineyard techniques; the careful vinification and skilful blending contribute to the exceptional quality of Château d'Arche's wines.

Occupying a high point in the Sauternes region, the illustrious Château d'Yquem is the only premier cru supérieur in Sauternes. Its vineyards cover 113 hectares. Since 1785, the castle belonged to the family of Lur Saluces. The towers date from the 15th century, the other buildings are built in the 16th century. The courtyard is accessible via 2 semi-circular porches, decorated with pilasters, which are set into the base of square pavilions. Bretches overhang these entrances. A massive well is situated in the middle of the courtyard.
