After a short hour's climb from the Altiport, a long descent under the coolness of the Fontany forest will allow you to visit the villages of Hauteville, le Villaret and les Allues. It is possible to continue to Brides-les-Bains.

From the Altiport, take a lovely footpath that winds along the ridge between the communes of Les Allues and Saint Bon (Courchevel) to reach the mythical Col de la Loze (2304m). Arrival of a stage of the Tour de France 2020.

A multifaceted outing taking you through the villages of the valley's ski resorts to the heart of Plan de Tueda National Nature Reserve and its lake. A pretty high altitude lake at 2254 metres, close to the Col de la Loze, offering a beautiful panorama over two valleys. You'll find rainbow trout here. Accessible on foot or by bike. Discover the historic center of Moûtiers: its pedestrian street and its shops, the medieval streets, the squares, the old bridge, the old archbishop's palace, the cathedral ... Visits for groups on request or free visits all year round. During the visit you will discover one of the emblematic sites of the city. The old bridge or Saint-Pierre bridge built in 1785 and classified as a Historic Monument since 1980. It is the oldest bridge in the city. It already existed in Roman times. Very often rebuilt due to the heavy floods of Isère in the 18th century in particular. Below, you will see a passage called barrioz that the washerwomen used to do their laundry. These barrioz were closed in the evening by barriers (hence their name) in order to avoid unwanted intrusions into the city from the banks. This circuit will reveal many other curiosities linked to the history of the city. For the little story : Moûtiers, known as Darantasia in the Roman era, was the historical capital of the Tarentaise (IIès). At the crossroads of the Valleys and located on the old Roman road linking Milan to Vienna (38), the town was often frequented by pilgrims on their way to visit the tombs of the apostles in Rome, as well as by merchants and soldiers. A major religious centre, the town’s name doubtless comes from“Monsaterium”: the word for the collected spaces of the cathedral, archbishop’s palace and cloisters. Mountain refuge on the shores of the Merlet lakes, in Vanoise National Park, surrounded by exceptional scenery that is characteristic of the mountains. Quiet, small mountain refuge. The refuge is staffed in the summer and open to access freely in the winter (wood and gas provided) Staffed in the summer from the end of June to the beginning of September. Weekend bookings are possible in September and October. Open to access freely in the winter, with a fee of €10 that should be left behind.

The Merlet Lake shelter is the smallest mountain hut in the Vanoise National Park. It belongs to the Town Hall, is open daily in July and August and managed by a member of the general public. It is open the rest of the year but unstaffed. Blankets alone are provided. The mountain hut is in the heart of the National Park in Avals Valley at an altitude of 2,417m. It has a terrace, common room with refectory, dormitory with 14 bunk beds and a 4-bed attic room over the common room. It has composting toilets and two outdoor water fountains which are free to the general public and guests alike (no shower). The hut can only be reached on foot. It has bivouac authorisation from Vanoise National Park subject to the number of beds in the hut.
