Merlet Lake shelter

Description

The Merlet Lake shelter is the smallest mountain hut in the Vanoise National Park. It belongs to the Town Hall, is open daily in July and August and managed by a member of the general public. It is open the rest of the year but unstaffed. Blankets alone are provided.

The mountain hut is in the heart of the National Park in Avals Valley at an altitude of 2,417m.
It has a terrace, common room with refectory, dormitory with 14 bunk beds and a 4-bed attic room over the common room.
It has composting toilets and two outdoor water fountains which are free to the general public and guests alike (no shower).
The hut can only be reached on foot. It has bivouac authorisation from Vanoise National Park subject to the number of beds in the hut.

This summer, the hut will be staffed from June 21st to August 31st (7 days a week) and available to book from September 1st to October 31st (open the rest of the year as a shelter).
