A pretty high altitude lake at 2254 metres, close to the Col de la Loze, offering a beautiful panorama over two valleys. You'll find rainbow trout here. Accessible on foot or by bike. Via the Loze trail, or from the arrival point of the Verdons cable car. Recommended fishing technique: fly, dry or chironomid. High-altitude lake permit required. The old bridge or Saint-Pierre bridge built in 1785 and classified as a Historic Monument since 1980. It is the oldest bridge in the city. It already existed in Roman times. Very often rebuilt due to the heavy floods of Isère in the 18th century in particular. Below, you will see a passage called barrioz that the washerwomen used to do their laundry. These barrioz were closed in the evening by barriers (hence their name) in order to avoid unwanted intrusions into the city from the banks. Just below the take-off runway of Méribel airfield and above the golfcourse is a gorgeous viewpoint over Moûtiers Valley. It's also a start point for other routes from Méribel.

As you go, you'll come across a herd of Tarine and Abondance cows reared for the production of Beaufort cheese. Don't be surprised if you see some on the cycle track, for they have right of way too.

Mountain refuge on the shores of the Merlet lakes, in Vanoise National Park, surrounded by exceptional scenery that is characteristic of the mountains. Quiet, small mountain refuge. The refuge is staffed in the summer and open to access freely in the winter (wood and gas provided) Staffed in the summer from the end of June to the beginning of September. Weekend bookings are possible in September and October. Open to access freely in the winter, with a fee of €10 that should be left behind.

The Merlet Lake shelter is the smallest mountain hut in the Vanoise National Park. It belongs to the Town Hall, is open daily in July and August and managed by a member of the general public. It is open the rest of the year but unstaffed. Blankets alone are provided. The mountain hut is in the heart of the National Park in Avals Valley at an altitude of 2,417m. It has a terrace, common room with refectory, dormitory with 14 bunk beds and a 4-bed attic room over the common room. It has composting toilets and two outdoor water fountains which are free to the general public and guests alike (no shower). The hut can only be reached on foot. It has bivouac authorisation from Vanoise National Park subject to the number of beds in the hut. The area is ideal for hiking, climbing (with several equipped cliffs of varying difficulty and length), mountain biking/electric bike riding, fishing in mountain lakes, exploring the Vanoise National Park, and, of course, admiring the magnificent scenery. The refuge offers overnight stays in dormitories or small rooms, as well as quality meals for lunch and dinner; a relaxation area, library, and games are also available. There will also be entertainment: Nepalese evenings every Friday evening, occasional musical entertainment.
