Located in the charming Château de l’Églantine in Jouy-en-Josas, the Musée de la Toile de Jouy brings to life the legacy of the famous Jouy Manufacture, founded in 1760 by Christophe-Philippe Oberkampf, a visionary entrepreneur and printer. Created in 1977 in the very town where Toile de Jouy was born, the museum celebrates this emblem of French textiles — a painted or printed cotton fabric, also known as *indienne* — while carrying forward the values of its creator: entrepreneurship, humanism, and openness to the world. The Grand Trianon was designed in 1687 by Jules Hardouin-Mansart to allow King Louis XIV to escape the excessive luxury of the Court and to safeguard his love affairs there. The site indeed exudes a sense of intimacy and refinement. The palace is inspired by Italian architecture and invites you to poetry and leisurely strolls. It was built on the site of Louis XIV’s former Porcelain Trianon. A little fun fact: in the past, the Grand Trianon was surrounded by thousands of potted flowers, which were changed every day. Today, this tradition is still maintained with each season. The spectacle was truly unique: flowerbeds bursting with blooms of every color and a wide variety of fragrances filled the air. Later on, the Grand Trianon was frequented by Napoleon Bonaparte and by Presidents of the Republic. From 1962 to 1966, General de Gaulle entrusted André Malraux, then Minister of Cultural Affairs, with the restoration of the Grand Trianon.

Just a stone’s throw from the Palace, this iconic site was the stage of the Tennis Court Oath, where 578 deputies of the Estates-General swore not to separate until they had given France a constitution. It was here that the French Revolution began. Come and discover one of the key landmarks of the French Revolution: the Salle du Jeu de Paume. Built in 1686 to entertain the court, this hall dedicated to jeu de paume—the ancestor of tennis—is today famous for having witnessed a historic turning point: the Tennis Court Oath. On June 20, 1789, 578 deputies of the Estates-General proclaimed themselves the National Assembly and swore not to separate until they had given France a constitution. The idea of replacing the Salle du Jeu de Paume with a commemorative monument dates back to the Revolution, but no project was carried out until 1880, when the hall was transformed into a museum to mark the centenary of this decisive event.

With its great park, its garden and its was statues living in the castle, Breteui is a family outing. Château de Breteuil stands in the heart of the Vallée de Chevreuse. The de Breteuil family, one of the most illustrious in France, has owned this immense property for several generations. The current building features a harmonious 17th-century façade of white stone and pink brick. But if you look hard enough, you can still make out some of the remains of the original fortified castle, such as the dovecote. Young and old alike will love the tour of the residence, brought to life by wax figures created by the Grévin Museum. Parents can observe the dress and customs of the period, while their children marvel at the reproductions of Red Riding Hood, Little Thumb and other heroes from Perrault's fairy tales, who populate the castle and its outbuildings. Outside, magnificent gardens and a gigantic 75-hectare park await visitors. After feeding the fallow deer and ducks, lose yourself in the large boxwood maze... Unique in France! The Church of the Metropolitan residence of Limours is a church entirely covered with wood and with beautiful interior frescoes, in the style of the Maramuresh region (northern Romania). Unique in France and Western Europe (exept a similar church built in Geneva), the Romanian Orthodox Metropolis Church put in evidence by its architecture, icons, frescoes, forms and colors, the splendor of uncreated light, the peace given by the risen Christ, the transfigured human condition, expression of heaven and new earth, which are already in germ in this life. The church has an iconostasis (bulkhead decorated with images, icons) that separates the Nave from the Heart. The outside is in rough wood and the roof, in bardo.

Visitors will discover in Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse the artist's home as he wished to leave it, after living there for more than 40 years. This is the first museum devoted to a music-hall artist to be awarded the Maison des Illustres label. As Raymond Devos wished, the house in which he lived for over 40 years in Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse has opened its doors to let the public discover his own world. The museum extends over 3 floors and allows visitors to (re)discover the comedian through numerous personal effects and artefacts including 17 musical instruments that he knew how to play and used on stage. Visitors can also (re)discover some of his most iconic sketches! After three years of work to transform the building into a museum, visitors can now explore a number of areas that have been recreated exactly as they were in that time, including the artist's office, and can even take a look at his notebooks. As in a theatre, the colours chosen for the House-Museum are red, white and black. At the entrance, visitors will discover Raymond Devos' two Molières prices, as well as his only school diploma: his primary school certificate. In the living room, the visitor will discover a large library with his favourite authors and a number of objects, including a Meccano and a Rodin's ‘The Thinker’, which he used to take with him on tour. A little further on, visitors enter his reconstructed dressing room. But Raymond Devos' lair is on the top floor, in the attic. It was in this room that he liked to work, and it has retained its ‘bazaar’ feel: stacks of books, cassettes, paintings, electric trains and other children's toys, a large piano, a Morris column... It's as if you're entering the bedroom of a grown-up child, which he managed to remain.

Châteaufort is a charming commune in the Yvelines department, combining a historic heritage with a well-preserved natural setting. Renowned for its castle, hiking trails and peaceful atmosphere, it offers a pleasant living environment on the outskirts of Paris.

The Donjon de Houdan is a 12th-century tower commissioned by the Counts of Montfort. This historic monument is also a cultural venue, offering exhibitions, concerts... The Tower (commonly known as ‘Le Donjon’), built in the 12th century under the reign of the Counts of Montfort, and listed as a Historic Monument since 1889, was designed to watch out for enemies and defend the territory. But in reality, its main role was to act as a deterrent, as it was reputed to be impregnable. Built on the site of an ancient Merovingian necropolis, it originally consisted of an enclosure and a master tower. The enclosure, which has now disappeared, was fitted with a circular turret to defend the gateway. The access door -via a drawbridge-, initially situated 4 metres above ground level and then raised to 6 metres in the 15th century, was the only access to the large room on the 1st floor reserved for the military chief. Sometimes associated with the Duchy of Brittany and sometimes with the crown of France, Le Donjon was given by Louis XIV, with the county of Montfort, to the Duke of Luynes. The latter sold it in 1800 to an innkeeper from Houdan, citizen Leroy. Successively owned by various familie, the place was bequeathed by the latter to the town of Houdan in 1903. It presents traces of its history through its numerous graffiti, some dating from the 17th century. Used as a reserve, then as a prison and later a water tower, it underwent a certain number of changes in order to adapt to its new functions. The water tower, whose first metal tank was installed in 1880, was functional until the 1950s. In 1952, a new, more solid concrete tank was built. The tank is still present to this day, as well as part of the concrete uprights used to support it. Le Donjon consists of a tower 15 m in diameter and 25 m high, flanked by 4 turrets of the same height located at the four cardinal points. MONUMENTAL WORKS Like any historical monument requiring renovation, the work on the dungeon was difficult and complicated due to the historical, architectural aspect and the planning constraints of the monument. No less than 3 and a half years of work were necessary to allow the site to regain a second lease of life and to be able to welcome the many visitors, curious to discover or rediscover this flagship monument of the Houdan landscape. From now on, young and old will be able to explore the dungeon from bottom to top!

The château, which hosts exhibitions throughout the year, offers a broad multi-disciplinary programme with national appeal. It hosts 5 exhibitions per season, based around heritage, contemporary art, science, photography and graphic arts. The park is open at weekends during exhibition periods. Located in the Mérantaise valley on the edge of the Saclay plateau, the Maison-atelier Foujita invites you to discover the home of French-Japanese painter Léonard Foujita, where he spent the last years of his life. Located in the Mérantaise valley, the small rural house was remodeled by the painter in the early 1960's. In this preserved site, the visitor can discover the intimate atmosphere of a painter trained at the School of Paris. On the top floor of the house, the artist's studio is kept intact. Brushes, pigments, models and murals (preparation of the work done in the chapel "Notre Dame de la Paix" in Reims) reveal all the wealth and secrets of a creator. In the presbytery, a reception area of ​​the place of memory, the visitor can prolong his visit through temporary exhibitions and by consulting the works kept in the documentation center.
