A journey of 200 km for 7 to 10 days of walking or 3 to 4 days by mountain bike, is offered to hikers through the plateaus and valleys of the Périgord, the Limousin bocage and the chestnut forests. Mountain bikers will complete the loop in 3 or 4 days! Thanks to the proximity of public transport (train, bus) and the greenways, it is also possible to modulate the itinerary at will, which is one of the strong points of this Grande Boucle.

The variant allows a short circuit of Nordic Walking (5,3 km). Arrived at Puygrèle, at the passage of the ponds, to take the way on the right and to continue it to find the initial circuit.

Take the path along the stream of Dournaujou. When you reach the road, follow it to the right and then take the first left. At the intersection, turn left, follow it, go along the pond then pass near the hamlet of Puygrèle. Variant : after the hamlet turn right. Follow the path until the next intersection, turn right. At the next crossroads, follow the track to the right. At the intersection of the 2 tracks, take the path opposite. Continue along the path, when you reach the road, follow it to the right. At the intersection, turn left onto the path in the woods. At the crossroads, turn left before finding the road. Follow it to the right. Just after the railings, turn left and follow this wide path back.

In Firbeix, in the north of the Périgord, the path you will take is lined with many varieties of apple and fruit trees. It will lead you to a nursery specialized in old fruits and then to the farm of the "orchards of yesteryear" where the fruits are transformed into juice, jams and other products elaborated directly on the spot.

The Montbrun trail lies to the north of the commune of Dournazac (the capital of the chestnut, a veritable emblem of the former Limousin region). It takes hikers to the highest point in the south-western part of the department: the Grand Puyconnieux (a place of interest for flora and fauna). It has long been a popular destination, offering exceptional views over a vast area of the Haute-Vienne and Charente departments. Admire the 15th-century Château de Montbrun, one of the finest castles on the Richard C?ur de Lion Route. A 16 km walk of moderate difficulty.

Go down to the village of Grand Puyconnieux. Turn right until the road. Cross the road and take the path in the wood. Follow it for 700 m. When you reach the road, follow it to the left. In the village of Vialebesoin, follow the road to the right, then continue on the first track on the right between the fences and the fields. At point 386, take the track on the left and climb to the village of La Côte, take the road opposite to point 450. Leave the path that leads to Font Froide, continue on this path on the left that climbs into the forest of Les Essarts, leaving 2 times the paths on the right. Go back down and reach a wide forest track, turn left immediately and go back down to Vialebesoin. Just before the village, turn right and follow the track that goes up. At the RD 213, follow it to the left and join the Grand-Puyconnieux car park.

It appears to have been built in the 12th century. It was then partially altered. Only the eastern part, i.e. the apse, the domed transept, the two apsidioles and the bell tower, are Romanesque. The portal dates from the 14th century. The nave is modern, probably 19th-century. Outside, along the north wall, there is a stone of the dead, and inside, two statues, one of the Virgin Mary, made of limewood, and one of a mitred abbot, possibly Saint-Sulpice. The building was listed as a Monument Historique on February 6, 1926. The sculptures in Saint-Sulpice church are a treasure trove of Romanesque art.

The Forteresse de Montbrun, a military fortress dating back to the 12th and 15th centuries, is just around the bend in a magnificent green setting. Standing on the edge of a pond, this remarkable structure is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and picturesque monuments in the Limousin region. The present-day fortress was built in 1179. Its Romanesque machicolated keep, "Le Grand Jacques", its four round towers and its moat-like pond, reflecting its singular silhouette, make up a remarkable ensemble and turn it into a veritable fairytale castle. Bought back in 1995 and after extensive restoration, decoration and furnishing work, the fortress is now open to the public by reservation. The guided tour will take you through 13 of the 32 sumptuous rooms - a visit not to be missed!

The Miellerie Dandelion is located in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional Périgord-Limousin, and as such the honey is certified by the Valeurs Parc label, as well as being certified organic.
