The 9.4 km route from Magnac-Laval to Luchapt (in the commune of Droux) via Le Dorat is the first section of the Voie Verte du Haut Limousin. This route in the heart of the Limousin countryside is suitable for all types of soft mobility, including walking, cycling and horse-riding. Its surface enables a wide range of people to enjoy a safe walk. It's just as suitable for sports enthusiasts and hikers as it is for families with children in baby carriages, the mobility-impaired and the elderly. This section is also part of the d'Artagnan equestrian route, well known to horse riders.

Starting out from the village of Rancon, you can observe the 12th-century Lanterne des morts (lantern of the dead) on the site of the old cemetery, which was used to keep watch over the dead. The botanical trail of the three mills offers a 6km nature walk. The trail was created in 2022 by CE1-CE2 and CM1-CM2 pupils from Rancon elementary school, together with their teachers and a forestry professional. The trail runs alongside the Gartempe River in a "Natura 2000" listed site (Gartempe valley) and allows visitors to discover different species of trees, shrubs and plants (51 in total). These are presented on small panels all along the trail. A small guide is available from the Rancon town hall for further information. An easy hike, ideal for the whole family!

In a small hamlet overlooking a valley of meadows, not far from the Route Nationale 145, the gîte has been converted into a detached house opening onto a lawned garden. Between the Brame and Gartempe valleys, this countryside is rich in picturesque villages and hiking trails. Aquatic pool and games at Mondon lake, 20 km away. Lac de Saint Pardoux: swimming pool, beaches, acrobatic park, sailing, water skiing and wakepark 30 minutes away by car.

The collegiate church of Le Dorat is dedicated to 'Saint-Pierre-des-Liens'. The church is the biggest collegiate church in the Limousin (77 metres long). It is a mixture of religious and military architecture (C15th fortified tower and northern part of the church). Not to be missed: the Sainte Anne crypt, the reliquaries of Israel an Theobald, the granite capitals, the fonts, the monumental staircase, the C19th stained-glass windows, and the C13th golden angel on top of the spire. The fortified chevet is accessible in the afternoon in July and August. In 2021: restoration work on the collegiate church has begun. Scaffolding has been erected on the outside of the western part.

The "Micro-Folie" digital museum has been set up in the Dorat cinema. It offers free and privileged access to more than 1800 works of art from museums, monuments and national public establishments: the Louvre, Orsay, Quai Branly -Jacques Chirac, the Arab World Institute, the Paris Opera, and many others. An experience to be lived on the big screen and touch tablets. We also offer "Virtual Reality" experiences with VR headsets.

Easily accessible, those leisure paths receive three rainbow trouts discharges per year by the Federation. Fishing is forbidden on the following days because of the discharges : 9th and 10th of March, 27th and 28th of April, and 1st and 2nd of June 2017. Those paths, signaled by panels, enable youngers and olders to practice their favorite hobby (be careful, closed on days of fish releases). This one is 3,3 km long, and it goes from the D4 bis bridge to the D91 bridge. Fishing licenses sold at the town hall of Oradour Saint Genest, in Le Dorat (at Rura Lim "Dorat" and at the Basse-Marche tourist office), or on the website www.cartedepeche.fr. Prices: daily fishing license (10€), weekly fishing license (32€), annual fishing licenses (95€ for interfederal men-license, 73€ for the Haute-Vienne men-license, 32€ for women, 20€ for minors (from 12 to 18), 6€ for children under 12). Aude DE ROFFIGNAC raises lamb for meat she sales from May. She also produces medicinal plants.

Myriam and Geoffroy HATET raise pigs and lambs, they also grow cereals to feed them. They produce sausage, sale fresh meat and cook "delicatessen" dishes, and canned.Their meat is additive and preservative free. Lamb selling only tekes place from June to September.

Honey, (monofloral and polyfloral honeys: chestnut, safflower, clover, forest...), nougat, spread, A beekeeper in the commune of Oradeour Saint Genest, Pierre Tabuteau manages around 500 hives, all located in the Basse-Marche area, an environment rich in hedgerows, which enables him to offer different honeys that reflect this healthy and preserved land.

L'étang des Pouyades is 9 hectares specially designed for fishing! In this pond, you'll find mostly carp between 8 and 15 kg and some between 20 and 28 kg, pike-perch, pike-perch, tench, sturgeon, some whitebait and roach. There are six pontoons, 4 of which are accessible to people with reduced mobility. The use of bait boats is prohibited on the pond.

Mélusine Masson and Matthieu Buis produce cheese from the milk of their Basco-Béarnaise ewes, a hardy breed from the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. After learning from the know-how of the Bearnais mountain pastures, they returned to the Haute-Vienne to offer us fresh cheeses, Ossaud'ici (ewe's milk cheese) and yoghurts. Milking is done by hand in the sheepfold or on the meadows along the Gartempe. They also offer milk-fed lamb and grass-fed lamb.
