La Porte Bergère
Description
The Porte Bergère is the only fortified gate in Haute-Vienne. Dating from the 15th century, it is known as the "Bergère" gateway, no doubt due to the herdswomen who once used it. It is located to the west of the ramparts, on the most inaccessible side of the hillside, and still retains its defensive systems.
