Missegle - the natural fibres workshop

A wonderful story woven together with you! Missègle is one of the last remaining knitting workshops in France, specialising in natural fibres. Products are sold directly from the workshop shop. Visits are available on certain days, subject to booking. Atelier Missegle has specialised in knitting items from natural fibres for nearly 40 years. The workshop, which is open to visitors, offers a unique selection of socks made from mohair, merino wool, organic Scottish yarn, yak down or Seacell. This is where you can buy the world’s most durable socks! They also knit woollen jumpers, scarves, gloves, mittens, hats, throws, blankets and more. You’ll find exceptional fibres such as mohair, yak, camel, linen, hemp and merino... Missegle is a company proud to uphold the traditional and artisanal expertise of textile craftsmanship, promoting the ‘Made in France’ label. We are convinced that the quality of our products stems from the passion and experience of our artisans. However, we do not rest on our historical expertise: we also invest in the latest technologies to continually improve our mastery of the art of knitting. We have been using 3D knitting since 2013 thanks to our Shima Sekei machines. This full-knitting technique allows us to produce a jumper in a single piece, using a single thread, resulting in a garment knitted in three dimensions without unnecessary seams, offering exceptional comfort. At Missegle, passing on our expertise is a core value. We are proud to preserve traditional techniques such as mending and hand-repairing, and to pass them on to future generations. Atelier Missegle has held the ‘Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant’ (Living Heritage Company) accreditation since 2016, thanks to its exceptional skills, which have been carefully preserved. Direct sales in our workshop shop from Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 6pm. Guided tour of the workshop: January to August: free tour on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 10.30am – by booking (groups on request). September to November: free tour on Thursdays at 10.30 am – booking required (groups on request). December: no studio tours during this period. Children’s workshop: During all Zone C school holidays except the Christmas holidays – €10 per child – booking required.
