On the outskirts of Castres, the Sidobre, a gigantic 120km2 granite heartland unique in Europe, between Burlats, Roquecourbe, Vabre and Brassac, fascinates visitors with its landscapes sculpted from rocks of astonishing shapes. Hills, forests and torrents conceal cascades of rock, rivers of stone, chaos and rocks in rugged, monumental shapes that fire the imagination. With the Trois Fromages, the Roc de l'Oie, the trembling rock of Sept Faux - 900 tonnes shaking under the action of a lever, and the Peyro Clabado - 780 tonnes nailed to a 1 m2 base, the Sidobre defies the laws of balance.
