Discover an easy and bucolic walk punctuated with themed boards through landscapes of plains and fields shaped by the monks of the Middle Ages. On the way, make the most of it to discover: La Maison de Salève, and 18th century farm offering many ways to discover the mountain of Salève and its heritage: exhibitions, guided tours, workshops, discovery walks, conferences, birthdays, hikes... The Pomier Charterhouse, founded in 1170, the place of prayers and meditation for 600 years, is now a reception site for events (seminars, marriages, concerts...).

Take the old path once trod by the lay brothers from the monastery and discover a little-known corner of Salève, with its alpine pastures, chalet, Sauge footpath and the village of Saint Blaise. There's a splendid view of the Geneva area. On the way, you can admire the magnificent Pomier Charterhouse. In terms of geology, you will see the limestone rocks of Balme. As you pass the chalet, you'll find some remarkable trees. You can also take a break in the village of St Blaise. From the cemetery, follow the sightseeing trail with its entertaining information boards describing the development of the village (1 hr maximum).

This path runs up to the Grand Piton, the highest peak in the Salève range at an altitude of 1,380 metres. Its plateau is pitted with karrens. Panoramic views of the Franco-Swiss Geneva Basin and the Jura mountains, especially from La Thuile farm. Starting from the small village of Beaumont, the Grand Piton hike will allow you to reach the highest point of the Salève mountain at 1380 meters altitude. With a little difference in altitude, but without particular difficulties, this hike will satisfy you with its magnificent views. The plain of Geneva and Lake Geneva are offered to you once the summit is reached. You will also find the Bastian Tower erected between 1820 and 1830 by Claude-François Bastian, a wealthy notary and mayor of Frangy who replaced the former post of Guet. Also discover the magnificent lapiaz plateau, one of the most beautiful in the Salève (lapiaz is a geological formation due to the runoff of water between limestone rocks).

This stage of the Chemin de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle, from Neydens to Charly, is an invitation to discover the cultural and natural wealth of Haute-Savoie. Neydens: A Bucolic Gateway Neydens has succeeded in retaining its character as a village divided into numerous hamlets, offering magnificent landscapes with the Salève as a backdrop. Here you'll find the neo-classical Sardinian chapel of Saint-Etienne (1848), a traditional stopover for pilgrims. The façade features a statue of Santiago de Compostela. Stroll through the Bois de Pomier to the Chartreuse de Pomier. Here, you'll discover the remains of the ancient chartreuse founded in 1170 by Amedée 1er, Count of Geneva and Vaud. Stop off at the pilgrims' chapel in the first house on the left. Head for the village of Saint-Blaise, where you'll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over the Lmean, over the Col du Mont-Sion to the village of Charly. Charly: A charming village End your stopover in Charly, a picturesque village in the heart of the Genevois region. The village's architectural heritage revolves around the Charly chapel, whose bulbous bell tower is listed as a historic monument. The old buildings still bear the mark of agricultural activity, with beautiful farmhouses opening onto open courtyards. In Charly, you can sample local specialities in the welcoming little inn, perfect for resting after a day's walking. In Feigères, between 1400 and 1789, thirteen seigneuries ruled at Châtelard. Of this medieval castle, only a wall face remains well preserved today. On the site of this castle the Châtelard cross and the Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette Chapel were constructed (1874 for the first one and 1925 for the current one). The small prisoners' chapel built from stone. During the Second World War, the parish community of Neydens had promised to build a chapel dedicated to the Virgin if all the prisoners from the village returned alive. The grateful prisoners, as well as the members of the community of Neydens built it at the end of the war. The site offers a viewing point over the valley.

The church is in the Neo-Gothic style. It was built by Fontaine, the architect from Annecy, in 1890 and opened in 1892. The interior was renovated in 1967 and the exterior in 1980.

A Roman boundary stone was erected in front of the church. It was used as a centrepiece of the monument to the dead and serves as a platform for a Gallic rooster in the capon style.

A former cheese farm has been divided into two sections: one is a shop to discover and buy the cheeses and meats on offer, and the other is a restaurant to taste the regional specialities. The Fromagerie is open for breakfast, lunch or dinner, offering hearty meals with a traditional added touch of the Savoyarde region.
