Expect a steep climb in the sunshine on the first part of this tour, to access a balcony road facing the resorts of Courchevel and Méribel. For your break, choose between the lively terraces of Bozel or the spa town of Brides-les-Bains.

Through the Belleville valley, two equally challenging climbs lead to Europe's highest resort. This variant takes the main road. An impressive vertical drop awaits you before you reach the Val Thorens resort at 2350 m altitude. This pass has a total score of 1343 points.

1354 Points -This variant of the classic ascent to Val Thorens is just as long and difficult as the other, but has the advantage of greater tranquillity.

Starting from Moutiers, the climb to Méribel starts with 10 km of quite easy cycling. The route, which was included in the 1973 Tour de France, has been fitted with kilometre posts. When the Tour de France visited Méribel-Mottaret in 1973, the resort had just seen the light of day. 903 Points -

1031 Points – This almost unknown climb in the heart of the Tarentaise Valley starts in the centre of Moutiers. A series of switchbacks leads to Hautecour’s pretty lake and the start of an amazing land-art trail. The summit is a haven of peace in the middle of the forest.

977 Points – Thick forest provides plenty of shade on the first part of the climb, up to Notre Dame du Pré, where the trees briefly thin out. Some of the pines above the village give an unexpectedly Mediterranean feel to the upper section of the climb. The village square in Notre Dame du Pré is dominated by a large drinking-water fountain.

A long climb into the heart of the Vanoise, with views of the Aiguille de la Vanoise and the Glaciers of the Vanoise as you go through Pralognan. 763 Points – Les Prioux is a popular trailhead for hikes into the Vanoise National Park.

1448 Points – Despite being the second hardest climb in Savoie, after the Galibier, this road is little known. It ends at an area of mountain pastures with breathtaking views of the Tarentaise.

The old bridge or Saint-Pierre bridge built in 1785 and classified as a Historic Monument since 1980. It is the oldest bridge in the city. It already existed in Roman times. Very often rebuilt due to the heavy floods of Isère in the 18th century in particular. Below, you will see a passage called barrioz that the washerwomen used to do their laundry. These barrioz were closed in the evening by barriers (hence their name) in order to avoid unwanted intrusions into the city from the banks. This circuit will reveal many other curiosities linked to the history of the city. For the little story : Moûtiers, known as Darantasia in the Roman era, was the historical capital of the Tarentaise (IIès). At the crossroads of the Valleys and located on the old Roman road linking Milan to Vienna (38), the town was often frequented by pilgrims on their way to visit the tombs of the apostles in Rome, as well as by merchants and soldiers. Home to what is now a thousand-year-old cathedral, Moûtiers had a bishop right from the 5th century, when the bishops became archbishops before being awarded the honorific title of ‘Comte de Tarentaise’in the Middle Ages. A major religious centre, the town’s name doubtless comes from“Monsaterium”: the word for the collected spaces of the cathedral, archbishop’s palace and cloisters. The mountain La Belle tatouée d'une tête de loup / rural-urban rivalry A duo of multi-disciplinary artists from Auvergne, Tank and Popek have been working together since 2012. Tank is an illustrator, drawing characters and a fantastical bestiary. Popek works in calligraphy. Here, they offer us "Beauty and the Beast". We find a beautiful woman tattooed with a wolf's head. Moûtiers: a meeting point Moûtiers' strategic position dates back to the Middle Ages... This gondola lift was built on the narrower side of the town. It reminds us of the strategic position of Moûtiers, a veritable confluence of the world's largest ski areas. The work was created using spray paint and a roller. It took 5 days to complete. The mountain The Grand Duke fixes the passer-by with his piercing gaze. Born in 1990 in Clermont Ferrand, France, the artist studied Applied Arts (Space Design). To create this work, he had to deal with two technical constraints: the presence of the balcony on the façade and the narrowness of the street. A heron with outstretched wings catches a can, not a fish: humans are endangering wildlife. 6 artists from the de la Maise collective participated in the creation of this work: Amok, Katia, High, Base, Graffmatt, Elgato. We see a superb spray-painted heron with its wings spread. It has just caught a can, not a fish. The artists wanted to denounce the fact that by throwing our garbage anywhere, we endanger wildlife. The Moûtiers coat of arms A Votour becomes an eagle (history of the town) The work is a free interpretation of the Moûtiers coat of arms by the artist Votour, who likes to peck at walls in reference to the Vulture. If you take the time to walk around the transformer, you'll see that the vulture evolves into an eagle, in reference to the eagle of the Holy Roman Empire. A toucan in its exotic greenhouse: decorating street furniture (public toilets) Amok is a self-taught painter and sculptor. It's not unusual to find animals in his often highly realistic creations. He is a member of the Maise collective. Palm is characterized by a very colorful, plant-based universe. High's favorite field is calligraphy. In Moûtiers, the artists are broadening their fields of expertise by tackling street furniture. The aim is to integrate it into its environment.
