Explore Buhl, Haut-Rhin with ASSOCIATION DES AMIS DU RIMLISHOF

A varied circuit starting from the Saint Barnabé Hôtel and Spa. This itinerary follows a wide trail that climbs gradually to the Schrangen pass, then reaches, via a wide, less sloping trail, the Wofsgrube pass. You then continue, still on a wide track, to Lieserwasen and then the Judenhut Pass. The descent first takes place on a trail to the prairie cord grass at Ebeneck. A small trail crosses the prairie, and continues through a forest to the Munsteraeckerle pass. The descent continues with a slightly wider trail that narrows on the approach to the Peternit pass. The end of the descent and the return to St Barnabé starts on a narrow and technical path before joining up with a wide trail to the starting point. But be careful! The climb might not be particularly difficult, but the descent is overall quite technical. This itinerary is for the most experienced cyclers. Your equipment must be of good quality and in good condition. You should also wear a helmet and where possible other adapted protective wear.

This hike of 12 km and 450 m of difference in height, starting from the church of Saint John the Baptist in Buhl, will allow you to admire in particular the castle of Hugstein, while passing by Murbach and to contemplate also the abbey church of Murbach.

This itinerary is for experienced hikers in good physical condition. Discover the small valley of Murbach and its famous abbey which held political, spiritual and cultural influence for a thousand years over a large territory. Along the way, you can enjoy many views of the abbey and the small valley of Murbach as well as tables and benches for a rest or picnic. This hike is short but the drop is relatively significant. The route which crosses beautiful forests allows you to discover the famous Murbach abbey, the Notre-Dame de Lorette chapel and to pass by the Schrangen pass, the ruins of the old Hohrupf castle and by the pit pass wolves (Wolfsgrube). Tables and benches are available at several places on the course

Horseback riding from the street Trottberg ( Buhl side). This walk that essentially borrows wide paths do not present any particular difficulties. You will discover the beautiful vineyards and forests of Guebwiller. Duration: 2h Length: 7.6 km Accumulated altitude: 227 m

Varied tour from ancient quarries of Buhl. The circuit passes through the Bannstein and near the Boenlesgrab and former convent Schwartzenthann. Some parts of the descent are on technical trails that can endanger the less experienced. It is necessary to have a good standard of practice and be properly equipped: helmet and if possible protections like dorsal, knee ...

At the foot of the Grand Ballon, the Guebwiller Valley cycle route follows the Lauch from the Lac de la Lauch to Issenheim. The route has a steep gradient from Lac de la Lauch to Lautenbach, then a moderate gradient for the rest of the way. You'll pass through the forested villages of Linthal, Buhl and Lautenbach, and enjoy a visit to Guebwiller, with its rich industrial past. The region has been awarded the "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire" label, and boasts a wealth of attractions. Don't miss the sumptuous Murbach Abbey, the Dominicans of Haute-Alsace or the impressive terraced vineyards on the mountainside!

This route allows to discover a part of the forest above Buhl / Lautenbach and passing by the Bannstein pass. After only 300m, we reach the red round marker, "between sandstone and granite" that we will leave only after completing the loop, to get back to the car. It can be interesting to perform this track in both directions: Clockwise: the total height difference is negotiated progressively and allows the walker/trailer to enjoy a nice technical and fun downhill portion starting at km 4.2 . Anti-clockwise: the difference in altitude arrives after 1.5km and represents a nice ascent for the traileur/walker who wants to work on the hill training. Beware of the hunting periods and forestry work which are very present in this part of the massif. The paths can be, at times, particularly damaged. The best times to perform this loop are : . - With a light layer of snow - Depending on the season, you will have the chance to see the different flowers bloom (broom in spring, heather in early September). Directions: Starting point: 0km You start your hike at the "Rue de la Carrière" in Buhl. There is a parking lot along the bicycle path, just behind the former climbing wall. Bicycle path 0km Leave the parking lot by following the cycle path to the north. After 100m follow the cycle path and leave the path which leads you to the right. After 350m you leave the paved road which leads you to the left, as this will be your way back. From here the signs "between sandstone and granite", " entre grès et granit " start, which you follow for about 6km. >br> Between sandstone and granite 0.35 km The asphalt road is replaced by a wide path with a slight incline. On your left you will pass fishing ponds as well as the chapel of St. Gangolph. Forest and high rocks 1,5 km Go completely into the forest and keep to your right. Now go up to the Hochselfen until you reach the Bannstein mountain pass (2.37 km). Br> Bannstein Pass 2,37 km Br> Go on the other side of the path and take the path on your left. The signalling should still be clearly visible. After a few small steep slopes you should arrive at the crossroads (3,38 km). Crossroads 3.38 km Now take the drivable path and follow the signposting. Follow the path for 1 km along the slope. Narrow one person trail 4,38 km Take the narrow trail to your right. After a few bends you leave the forest and come to a field with many plants. Now continue to follow the path. At the end of the path you arrive at Neuberg (Lautenbach) and follow the path down. Lautenbach / Schweighouse 5,6 km Now take the road to your left "rue de la vallée". Then take the path in the direction of "Soultzmatt". Continue straight ahead and take the street "rue St Michel". The street you are on will gradually change into a bicycle path, which has a final incline. Return to the parking lot 6.6 km Now take the path to your right and follow it until you reach the parking lot.

The remarkable trees in Marseillaise Park, the standing stone of Langstein and the legends of Bollenberg Hill are all on the menu of this itinerary through Alsace. (Climbing up to Bannstein Pass is not difficult and this route is open to everyone).

This relatively long hike is characterized by an accumulated altitude of nearly 900 m. This itinerary passes through forests of varying density and along ridges. At the roundabout at the entrance of the village of Hartmanswiller coming from Cernay by the RD 5 or from Bollwiller by the RD44 in front of the Meyer hotel, take the route de la forêt. You can park your car 500 m further on the edge of the forest. The route takes the road to the canteen, so called because it leads to the ZELLER canteen, which was the former German command post of the 14-18 war on the Hart-mannswillerkopf front. The place is named Zeller in reference to Madame Zeller who lived there after the Second World War.

This pretty fountain, carved from tree trunks, owes its name to Auguste Kauffmann, former mayor of Hartmanswiller, who installed it. Take the path on the left: you are on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.

The itinerary goes through a very beautiful setting between vineyards and orchards. The views follow one another towards Hartmanswiller, the Vosges mountains, Bollwiller, the headframes of the Rodolphe Mine etc. Follow the red-white-red rectangle sign back to the starting point through fields and orchards and onto the Route de la Forêt.

On both sides of the path you will find World War I bunkers. These are German bunkers dating from 1916-1918 and restored by the Friends of the Hartmannswillerkopf and the Baden South West reservists.

After a gentle descent at the end of the forest, you enter the Berrwiller vineyard. In good weather, you can see Mulhouse and sometimes even the Swiss Alps.

This oratory, as well as the following one, were probably built at the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th century.

Before crossing the departmental road 5, the panorama allows you to discover the bell tower of Berrwiller and the plain of Alsace.

There is a bench next to this oratory where you can take a pleasant break. Take the path on the left towards Berrwiller.

Head towards the exit of the car park, towards the old slag heap which is part of the Carreau Rodolphe, the site of the Potash Mines of Alsace, the first shaft of which was drilled in 1913 by the Société Kali Ste Thérèse. This site is a witness to the past glory of the mining industry and has been owned by the Conseil Général since 1987. A team, the "Rodolphe Group", has been fighting since 1994 to rehabilitate and develop the site, in order to preserve the memory and tools of the MDPA miners. We follow the cycle path, with moorland and reed beds on our right, which were created by the discharge of brine in 1960, causing the trees to die in these marshes.
