This memory trail takes you on a cycling or walking tour of the route of the 1922 "Tourism" speed race "Grand prix ACF". Through 6 stages, this circuit reveals the many facets of the race's initial route through the villages of Duppigheim, Entzheim, Blaesheim, Innenheim and Duttlenheim. Henri Rougier was the winner of this event. Another event: the Grand Prix Automobile de France 1922 was a speed Grand Prix held on July 15, 1922, starting from Duppigheim. Two Bugatti cars driven by Pierre de Vizcaya and Pierre Marco took 2nd and 3rd places. The winner, Felice Nazzaro of the Fiat team, saw his nephew, Biaggio Nazzaro, killed before the end of the race. A stele commemorates this moment on the course.

An unexpected, yet very pleasant circuit centred on the waterways of the River Ill and the Bruche Canal. The outlying villages of the second circle around the Eurometropolis are home to charming half-timbered houses and panoramic views of the Vosges Mountains and the Black Forest.

As you wend your way along the scented tracks of the Sauerkraut Route, signs tell you that Alsace is “chou” (“chou” meaning both cute and cabbage!). Geispolsheim, Blaesheim, Innenheim Krautergersheim and Erstein – this is the area where virtually the entire national production of sauerkraut cabbage is harvested. So don’t forget to order a dish of “choucroute” on your travels. Take time out as well to visit the WURTH France Contemporary Art Museum and explore St. Trophime’s Abbey and its monastic gardens in Eschau.

Duration: 3h30 - Start: Salle des fêtes at the football pitch - Signposts: blue circle This trail takes walkers through the forest to discover Hindisheim's natural heritage. The old wash-house is the starting point. After crossing the Andlau bridge, the path passes between fields, orchards and meadows, before leading into the forest. Here, you'll come across a Liberty Tree planted by schoolchildren, an arch made up of 8,000 little blue and yellow hexagons, and a little further on the old football pitch, the "Gansebrunne" or goose well, followed by the Borne forestière. Then the Leimeleschle (old clay quarries), and finally a mirror reflecting in the middle of the forest. In 2012, the Club Vosgien, under the aegis of the Communauté de Communes du Pays d'Erstein, added a signposted walking trail to this discovery trail. Here you can discover the Bruch and the Andlau.

2h30 walking tour (8km) starting from the Benedictine Abbey of Saint-Cyriaque in Altorf. These markers date from the 16th and 18th centuries, and still feature inscriptions, dating, symbols such as the bishop's crozier, and even coats of arms. Some were damaged during the French Revolution. There are 2 variants of this route, the first offering a view of the tumulus, the second a visit to the village. You can set off from either Molsheim or Dachstein railway stations.

This trail is quite longer than the usual village tour and tells the religious history of Altorf from the celts to nowadays. It can be completed by the hiking "sentier des bornes armoriées"

Going through the plains, this circuit will help you discover some of our villages. Half-timbered houses may be legion but they never look alike. For example, Duttlenheim's architecture is entirely different from the wine village of Ergersheim. Other buildings also stand out, such as the Roman and Baroque abbey of St. Cyriacus in Altorf, or the ancient Trappist convent that now houses the town hall in Ergersheim. Museum Gaspar is housed in the residence of the middle-class family Gaspar from Arlon who had set up in this house (1893) that was built in 1842. It was renovated in 2004. The two most famous members of this family are animal sculptor Jean-Marie Gaspar (1861-1931) and Charles Gaspar (1971-1950) who was a photographer and a sponsor. He gave his house to the town of Arlon on the condition they make a museum of it, dedicated to his brother's work and that put into honour the history and the heritage of Arlon. At the first floor, theree are two restored salons identical to a middle-class salon from the early 20th century that show Jean-Marie Gaspar's sculptures. and the art and picture collection of Charles Gaspar. The rest of the first floor is dedicated to temporary exhibitions of the museum that alternates artv and history. A religion room shows collections about the abbey of Orval and to the people's devotion at the 18th century, and also relics from the ancient Saint-Martin church. But the Masterpiece is the famous altarpiece Retable de Fisenne - a 16th century masterpiece from the Antwerp school. It was bought in 1893 by a middle-class family from Arlon, the family Gaspar. Jean Gaspar (1861-1931) was a sculptor. He was trained by the Antwerp sculptor Jef Lambeaux. His works are in bronze and in plaster and they are exhibited in the salons that have been restorated as they were in his house. His brother Charles (1871-1950) was a photographer, a collector and a sponsor. He gave this house to the town of Arlon. It hosts the library of the Archaeological Institute of the Belgian Province of Luxembourg and its secretary office since 1954. A wide part of the museum is also dedicated to temporary exhibitions about art and history of Arlon.

Rich in the Gallo-Roman past of Arlon, the museum houses an impressive collection that bears witness to the daily life of this period.One of the peculiarities of the museum is its imposing and rich lapidary collection, composed of several dozen fragments of ancient funerary monuments.These blocks and the objects from Roman craftsmanship will teach you more about daily life at that time.

You will have some free time in Rothenburg to visit its museums or sample a Schneeball (“snowball”), a local sweet pastry, before returning to Frankfurt at the end of the day.

Memorial to Jean Bugatti. He was the son of automobile manufacturer Ettore Bugatti, who opened his factory in Molsheim-Dorlisheim in December 1909, the year of Jean's birth. Jean started working very early with his father, as he possessed the same artistic skills concerning designing elegant vehicles. On August 11, 1939, Jean Bugatti tragically died in a car crash while testing a 57 C. He was 30 years old. His father never recovered from the loss of his son.

On June 2, 1776, the foundation stone of a new church was laid on an artificial mound in the middle of the village (the singularity of this church!) and it was enlarged 85 years after its construction. The building escaped destruction during both world wars. As a sign of remembrance, a statue of St. Odile was erected next to the main portal. In the summer of 1958, a violent hailstorm shattered the stained glass windows and let in rainwater. In the 1960s, the interior of the church (choir, nave, altars, stained glass windows, ceiling and organ) was restored. In 1977 further renovation work uncovered the foundations of two previous buildings and the walls of the old cemetery once surrounding the place of worship.. Interior: The neo-classical church features a semi-recessed bell tower façade, a triangular pediment portal, a single nave with rectilinear side portals and a polygonal choir. The church features a tabernacle (18th century), altars and pulpit (19th century), high altar (20th century), a redesigned 25-register Stiehr organ (1817), a majestic painting of St. Louis by François Brendle (1807) at the back of the choir and two paintings on canvas over the side altars by painter Joseph-Louis Sorg, depicting two key scenes from the New Testament: the Crucifixion on the right and the Annunciation on the left (1840). In the church lie Klara Judith and her husband Hans Jacob von Landsberg, whose Rococo-style tombstone is still on the right wall of the nave. Outside: On one facade, a 1705 sundial is carved into a square slab. Originally placed against the "east" facade of the nave, the grotto of Lourdes found a worthy location behind the choir, attracting pilgrims for prayer and peaceful contemplation. On its side, the crucified Christ, with Mary and John at his feet, casts his gaze on the passer-by. The grotto is a place of prayer and peaceful contemplation. The church is not open to visitors, but is open throughout the year for religious celebrations.

This early 18th century building was used to stock the tithe. Nowadays, a chunk of the former barn has been turned into a public library.

On our farm, we follow each season different activities. Ranging from the production of cereals and sugar beets, to the reception on the farm of families, schools and children. You can discover the farm through various activities and visits. For the summer period we propose the corn maze with its nocturnal evenings, the discovery of the animals and their feeding. In winter we offer basketry courses. All year round, children can also celebrate their birthday with us, or participate in themed days. All these activities are on registrations.

This channel has a length of 20 km (12.4 mi), a 29 m (95 ft) slope and eleven locks measuring 48,5 x 4,5 m (159' x 14.7') each. On the 13th August 1682, the Bruche channel, also called channel Vauban was officially opened. It was designed to ship stones and other materials from the quarries of Soultz-les-Bains and Wolxheim for the fortification of Strasbourg and the construction of its citadel. On the 30th September 1681 the German free town Strasbourg capitulated in front of the French army. For a better defence of Strasbourg, King of France Ludwig XIV decided to build a fortress. The plans were drawn by the king's architect, Vauban. At that time there was a intense traffic on the channel composed of men, donkeys or horses, which from the right bank towpath of the pulled the full loaded ships. Beginning of the last century the channel was used less often. The former towpath now serves as a cycle lane you can use to reach Strasbourg.

Dating from 1838-1839, this building was built on the site of a church dedicated to Saint Como and Saint Damian.

Located in the Trèfle leisure zone at the entrance to the village of Dorlisheim, 20 km west of Strasbourg, a 1500m² building brings together Lasermaxx and Goolfy in the same place. The facility is air-conditioned in summer and heated in winter, and includes a bar, games room and lounge area. Games are open to children aged 7/8 or 120 cm (birthday packages from age 8)! What is Lasermaxx? Go on an adventure, equipped with a laser pistol and an electronic vest, immersed in a labyrinth with light effects and musical ambience. The aim of the game is to disable as many opponents as possible by aiming at the sensors on their pistols and vests, while avoiding being disabled yourself. The "Rimlen" Chapel is the only remaining piece of the former village of Rimlenheim. The hamlet was destroyed by the Armagnacs. An office is being held annually, on the 29th September (St. Michael's day), to commemorate the departed. If you want to discover this chapel, exit the village and take the road towards Ernolsheim sur Bruche. The building is in the middle of the vineyard.
