The Lac d'Anglas hike is one of the must-do itineraries starting from Gourette. It offers a varied mountain landscape where waterfalls, cliffs and a lake enhance the grandiose scenery of the high-altitude pastures you pass through.

The balconies of Gourette are a very easy hike / walk that will take you around the resort of Gourette. This loop will allow you to gain a little height and to admire the resort. It is an ideal itinerary for beginners or for families.

The Tour du Sanctus loop offers a beautiful panorama on the famous Pic du Sanctus. From Gourette, you will cross the summer pastures but you will also discover the lakes and laquets of our territory. This high mountain itinerary is for experienced runners.

A very nice and sportive trail starting from Gourette which will lead you to the Aubisque pass through the Tortes and Arbaze passes, down to the villages of Aas and Eaux-Bonnes and back to Gourette. To be done for the view on the cirque of Gourette, the blueberries, the vultures which regularly fly over the site.

Departing from Gourette, this loop takes in 4 mountain lakes: Louesque, Uzious, Lavedan & Anglas. there are 2 possible itineraries, including one for hikers looking for thrills and elevation changes, who will appreciate the climb between the Coste de Goua hut and the Pic du Sanctus. This high-mountain itinerary is for experienced hikers.

This itinerary takes you to the discovery of the cirque of Gourette for a course which starts to make you gain height. After a passage obliged on the plateau of Bézou near the artificial lake, you attack the descent with an impregnable view on Gourette.

The lake is located at the bottom of a small circus bounded by Pene-Medaa (2521 m) and Arre Sourins (2614 m). On the eastern flank of the circus are the remains of an iron mining exploitation. The mining galleries, for some totally blocked by landslides, alongside traces of the railroad that allowed the evacuation of materials. Ruins of building testify of the exploitation facilities, including the houses of miners. There is also a gallery and facilities on the other side of the mountain, downstream of Lake Uzious. Found there including a water channeling water line of Lake Uzious and the turbine which allow to produce energy. Access by the GR 10: 4h to go and return, or the chairlift Cotch - paying - in July-August : 1h go - back either by chairlift or by the GR10.

In 300 m of the House of Gourette, in the direction of the GR10 ' lake of Anglas ' and of the route health, 3 tables and wooden benches are installed against top of a small stream there. The area is not shaded. It is necessary to return to your steps to find garbage containers.

The Green Mountain Farm is a farm of 19 hectares devoted to cattle farming - Blondes d'Aquitaine - and sheep - the Basque-Bearn sheep. Milk production is transformed on site: Christine makes and sells pure farm sheep cheese in the valley of Ossau and the greuil, feta and faisselle.
