Bike tour : The Vals of the Dauphiné

Bike tour : The Vals of the Dauphiné_La Tour-du-Pin
Bike tour : The Vals of the Dauphiné
Bike tour : The Vals of the Dauphiné_La Tour-du-Pin

Description

Over one or more days, trace the outline of the Vals du Dauphiné, avoiding the main roads! On these quiet roads, it will be an opportunity to create a beautiful route, passing by the most beautiful viewpoints we have to offer.

Start / return (parking):
- La Tour du Pin station.

This tour of the Vals du Dauphiné region can be started from one of the following train stations: La Tour du Pin (recommended departure point), Pont de Beauvoisin, or Virieu-sur-Bourbre (Val de Virieu).

Ideal for preparing for the ascent of the great Alpine passes or getting used to elevation gain, come climb our hills and discover why we are called "Les Vals du Dauphiné". Between kilometers 50 and 115, you'll encounter a series of climbs and descents on moderate to steep slopes (reaching gradients of over 15%!). These efforts will be rewarded with stunning panoramic views, stretching from the Bugey region to Mont Blanc, passing by the Chartreuse and Épine mountains.

Throughout the route, you can also look up and admire the castles, museums, and numerous traditional Dauphiné houses typical of our region.

So don't waste any time and come explore the Vals des Dauphiné !

You can also complete the tour by taking only certain sections, starting and ending at each station (for example, starting at La Tour du Pin station, going to Pont de Beauvoisin station, and then returning to La Tour du Pin by train = 48 km / 450m elevation gain). Another option is to break up the circuit into 2, 3, or even 4 days, staying overnight in one of the Accueil Vélo (Cyclists Welcome) accommodations in our area.
