Cross the Hamlet of Bac d’en Haut (follow the yellow and red markers) in the direction of the ridges of Roquefixade
From the ridge descend to the village of Roquefixade (markers yellow and red then white and red).
Behind the village Gite, take the rural path in the direction of the Monument to the Dead (1.2km).
At the cross roads before Coulzone bare left and head towards the ruins of Grezat by a rural path for 800 meters.
Pass the ruins and descend the path and rejoin the GR to Pays d’Olmes. (1.5 km)
The existence of the castle of Roquefixade is attested since 1034. The first lords all bear the name of Bernard Amiel de Pailhès. During the crusade against the Albigenses, they are of all the fighting alongside the counts of Toulouse and Foix of which they are the vassals. In 1278, the castle was purchased by the king who will maintain and remodel the fortifications and maintain a garrison including a castellan, a watchman, a porter, twelve sergeants and watchdogs.
